Former Inter Milan striker Goran Pandev heaps praise on rising Nerazzurri stars Petar Sucic and Francesco Pio Esposito.

The Nerazzurri currently lead the Serie A standings, leaving AC Milan, Napoli, Roma, and Juventus trailing behind them.

Cristian Chivu’s men have been enjoying a solid run in the domestic league, but their fortunes have recently changed in Europe.

After winning their first four Champions League group-stage contests, Inter now find themselves on a three-match losing skid.

Their most recent defeat took place in front of their home supporters at San Siro when hosting Arsenal on Tuesday evening.

The Premier League leaders won by three goals to one thanks to a brace from Gabriel Jesus and a late strike courtesy of Viktor Gyokeres.

On the other hand, Sucic scored the solitary goal of the evening for the home side.

But despite the defeat, the Inter supporters can at least be pleased with the display of two young stars.

Last summer, Sucic joined the Serie A leaders for circa €15 million. But following a brilliant start to the campaign, the Croatian’s market value has already multiplied.

But while the Nerazzurri had to pay a transfer fee for the 22-year-old midfielder, Esposito didn’t cost them a penny. After all, the young Italian striker rose through their youth ranks (alongside his two elder siblings) and has now cemented himself as an important member of the squad. On Wednesday, Inter may have fallen short against Arsenal, but they can at least rest assured that the future will be bright, as Pandev explains.

Goran Pandev Applauds Young Inter Milan Duo Petar Sucic & Francesco Pio Esposito

The North Macedonian was taken away by the performances of the Croatian midfielder and the Italian striker on such a big European night.

“On a negative night for Inter, we saw two young players who are growing very well, like them. They are already fundamental elements for this group and have fitted in perfectly,” said Pandev during his post-match appearance on Sky Sport Italia via FcInterNews.

“Sucic was Inter’s best player. Had he been a bit more selfish, he would have scored the second goal, but he likes to provide assists.

“Then Esposito produced a gutsy performance: in five minutes, he took three shots on goal. Inter should be happy to have found such important youngsters,” concluded the former Lazio, Inter, and Napoli attacker.
