Tomas Palacios is set to leave Inter Milan after the club reached an agreement with Estudiantes over a loan move to Argentina.

The deal resolves weeks of uncertainty around the young defender’s immediate future.

According to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, via FCInterNews, Inter finalised terms with Estudiantes following direct talks with club president Juan Sebastian Veron.

Palacios had previously turned down several proposals. However, he has now accepted the move to La Plata and given his approval.

The structure of the deal mirrors a familiar Inter strategy. Palacios will join Estudiantes on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Palacios Moves From Inter to Estudiantes On Loan-With-Option

Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the purchase clause should sit between €6m and €7m.

Inter believe the move offers the best solution for all parties. Palacios has struggled for consistent minutes this season.

As a result, a return to Argentina should provide regular playing time and a more stable development path.

At the same time, Inter retain control over the defender’s future.

The option to buy allows Estudiantes flexibility, while Inter can monitor Palacios closely throughout the campaign.

The Argentine was not able to pick up any minutes for Inter and a loan move will be best for all parties.
