Walter Zenga believes Inter Milan would be wrong to offload underperforming winger Luis Henrique this winter.
Speaking to L’Originale via FCInter1908, he delivered his verdict on ongoing speculation linking the Brazilian with an early exit.
Inter Milan splashed out around €23 million to sign Luis Henrique from Olympique Marseille last summer.
Furthermore, they had to beat several top clubs, including Bayern Munich, to his signature.
Cristian Chivu had hoped the 24-year-old would be an ideal long-term replacement for Denzel Dumfries.
However, the former Botafogo star has failed to settle at San Siro.
Despite making 23 appearances in all competitions this season, Henrique is still waiting for his first goal in Inter colors.
More importantly, his performances have often failed to impress, throwing his future at San Siro into a corridor of doubt.
It’s also worth noting that the Nerazzurri are desperate to re-sign Ivan Perisic, which would further dent Henrique’s prospects.
Walter Zenga Urges Inter Milan Not to Sell Luis Henrique

“They sign Perisic, Luis Henrique leaves, and Dumfries will be back in a month,” Zenga said. “I thought Inter were signing Perisic to complete the squad.
“Personally, I wouldn’t let the Brazilian go, even if he gets whistled at San Siro.
“People don’t realize that he gives balance to the whole team.
“It’s true that Inter attack a lot down the left because they have Bastoni and Dimarco there,” the legendary goalkeeper added.
“Luis Henrique’s presence on the right provides balance. These are all those little nuances that coaches understand.
“That’s why he keeps starting, but people don’t get it and latch onto one player.
“I’ve watched Inter live many times, and maybe I don’t understand football, but he’s the player who has given balance to everyone.”
Finally, Zenga previewed Inter’s must-win UEFA Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund.
“A difficult one,” he claimed. “The German team have always played great football at home, especially going forward.
‘They have a lot of quality in attack. They have a wall of noise and a special atmosphere. It won’t be an easy game.
“But apart from Arsenal, even in the matches they lost, they never allowed the opposition to dominate, even in the Champions League, despite losing those games.”

Numbers don’t lie he’s the WORST player to play in that position ever since Inter started using 3-5-2 FACTS
put vini or rodrygo as a wingback and they’ll flop guaranteed.Buchanan was bought and flopped,Perisic flopped at wingback and sent on loan to Bayern before coming good.Fact is Wingers will struggle to play in that position guaranteed.A right back would transition easier. Example Dumfries, even Darmian, but would struggle in attack.A ready made wingback would cost inter minimum 50 -60 million.Inter sold Hakimi who was tailored for the role and never replaced properly. Frimpong would of been the best option.but it’s too late now.
After all, do people think they understand the team’s needs better than the coach, who is with the players every day? When you’re a supporter, your job should be to provide support. As a spectator, you never spend your own money to buy players, as the club’s management does, and you’re never burdened with deciding which players are worthy of playing, as the coach does. So, let our management, coaches, and players do their jobs in peace.
True inter fans please stop criticizing new players and calling them flops.Dumfries had a bad start at Inter as well,Dimarco took years and several loan spells before he got to where he is.The pressure of playing for Inter alone is a huge burden.
yes Luis Henrique is good, very good. because, if he’s not, he will not coaching PSG and wining UCL
Hahahahah
I think if you aren’t going to offer anything in attack, then you better be spot on defensively, and he has been pretty good. But really could do with some courage in the attack. It is like he is pretending, we bought a player with attacking attributes and he wants to present himself as a safe/defensive player. Are you scared? Are you really Brazilian, he doesn’t have to go nuts but he needs more courage than he has shown.
Atleast I know I’m not the only defending him like I’ve been told.
Yup many fans don’t understand the importance of Luis Henrique. We only regret we lose something that seemed insignificant in our eyes, unfortunately
