Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan addressed the press after Wednesday’s 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking to Inter TV via FCInterNews, the 37-year-old opened up on his limited playing time this season.
Mkhitaryan started the game tonight as Cristian Chivu was unable to call upon Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu.
However, the Armenian veteran failed to impress on his return to Signal Iduna Park.
Furthermore, he surrendered his place to Andy Diouf in the 88th minute, with the Frenchman finding the net only six minutes later.
Unlike last season, Mkhitaryan’s presence in Inter’s starting lineup is no longer guaranteed.
Indeed, Petar Sucic has impressed, with Diouf picking up a head of steam after a slow start.
Inter Milan Star Henrikh Mkhitaryan Comments on Midfield Competition After Borussia Dortmund Win

Mkhitaryan has made just ten Serie A starts this season, adding three more in the Champions League.
Yet, that’s a far cry from the consistent starting role he enjoyed last term.
“Everyone here gives their all. Unlike last season, we never know who’s going to play,” Mkhitaryan said.
“Back then, we knew the midfield was Mkhitaryan-Barella-Calhanoglu. Our playoff opponent? It doesn’t matter to us.
“What mattered was tonight’s match, where we brought home three points.
“There’s some disappointment over the points we dropped earlier.
“However, now we’re focused on the upcoming challenges, and we’ll do our best to get through the round.”

which club in the top 8 have a players up to 33 years of age.
Listen Stistics boy, Football is not a sprint contest. It’s a game of intelligence.
Maldini, Totti, Zanetti, Giggs, Modrić, Zlatan — all played at the top level around 40. That’s not an accident.
What lasts in football is technique, positioning, decision-making, leadership, and football IQ. Pace fades early; brains don’t.
A smart player arrives before the ball, not after it. He reads the game, controls tempo, organizes others, and wins matches without running blindly.
If football were only for players under 33, history’s greatest midfielders and defenders wouldn’t exist.
Youth gives speed. Experience wins trophies.
We don’t have maldini, totti, zanetti, giggs, modric or zlatan.
ok to have one such player in your team, but we have many over 30, not just because they possess all those qualities hat you have listed, but because our ownership/management have not done their job. Not a single player over 30 in our squad is at a level of any those that you named!
