Inter have reached an agreement with Modena to sign promising French midfielder Yanis Massolin, securing a deal for the future.
The move is close to completion, with the player set to remain in Serie B until the end of the season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, sporting director Piero Ausilio moved quickly to beat competition from Fiorentina and convince Modena with an offer worth around €5 million plus bonuses.
The Nerazzurri see Massolin as a long-term investment rather than an immediate first-team addition.
Inter Close In On Deal For Modena Midfielder Massolin

The 23-year-old, originally from Martinique, joined Modena last summer from Belgian second-division side Franc Borains for just €900,000.
His rapid development in Italy has significantly increased his value and attracted attention from several clubs.
Massolin will stay at Modena until June to continue playing regularly.
So far this season he has made 13 Serie B appearances and scored once, netting a dramatic equaliser away to league leaders Frosinone in a 2-2 draw.
His potential had already been noted earlier in his career.
Massolin made his Ligue 1 debut with Clermont Foot during the 2022-23 campaign before moving abroad.
Now, after a strong spell in Italy’s second tier, his career appears to be taking another step forward.
For Inter, the deal reflects a strategy of investing in emerging talent while planning carefully for the future structure of the squad.

have our management forgotten we have a first team as well? we seem to be only strengthing our under 23 and primavera.
they are strengthening our first team with the likes of Henrique, Diouf, Sucic….
He plays almost like Andy diouf. Some of these left legged midfielders struggle at Inter,
The only thing he has in common with Diouf is being left footed. He is tall, strong, hardly looses the ball, has a wicked left foot and has a good final pass.we don’t have that kind profile in our team
Hes seems like a decent player but a massive flaw is that he can’t use his right foot. He always dribbles to his left to shoot or pass with his left foot and is really predictable.
