Inter Milan had hoped to replace out-of-sorts midfielder Davide Frattesi with Liverpool star Curtis Jones in January.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Frattesi’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, explained his client’s status.
Davide Frattesi has fallen out of favor at San Siro this season, making just two starts in Serie A.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu has preferred both Piotr Zielinski and Petar Sucic over the former Sassuolo man.
Frustrated with a lack of first-team action, the player was ready to pack his bags in search of regular football elsewhere.
Meanwhile, Chivu’s men were ready to sanction Frattesi’s exit, but only after finding a replacement.
Inter had hoped to sign Curtis Jones from Liverpool as the Italian midfielder’s replacement.
However, after the Reds pulled the plug on the Englishman’s sale, the Serie A pacesetters withdrew Frattesi from the market.
Nottingham Forest and Lazio were looking to offer Frattesi an escape route from Lombardy, only for Inter to spoil their plans.
Agent Explains How Inter Milan Wanted to Replace Davide Frattesi with Curtis Jones

First of all, Riso confirmed Forest’s long-term interest in his client.
“There was interest from Lazio and Nottingham,” he said. “Then Liverpool didn’t let Jones go, and in the end, everything came to a halt.
“Inter don’t want to do without him at this moment and didn’t want to push things further.”
Frattesi found himself in a similar situation last season.
Indeed, he was on the fringes of Simone Inzaghi’s setup, with Roma trying to lure him away in January.
However, Inter had stopped the transfer, just as they did this time.
With Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella on the verge of recovery, Frattesi is unlikely to get more playing time.
Perhaps Inter’s duties in multiple competitions could help him get some minutes he desperately needs to cement his national team status.

another market failure, but stay tuned for more
We got massolin and left him on loan till the end of the season. AM, cm, rw. 197cm. The french connection is growing. Money well spend.
Massolin is just the next market failed gamble of this management.
23 year old playing in Serie B. I don’t expect much from him.
I’m of same opinion, by that age many showed quality to play in big team, not be reserve in some club from Seria B. Too old for U23 team, and don’t believe he’ll be any competition to our current midfield or future players like Akinsanmiro and Stankovic, who are also younger than him.
Another gamble by this management. Coming from a second-division team, it’s difficult to expect great things. Inter needs ready-made players, something Marotta wasn’t able to bring in.
Meanwhile Lookman goes for the same amount we offered, appreciate they wanted more if sold to a serie a rival, but man that hurts. Especially considering we’ve got nothing in.
I hope they haven’t seen the table and think the leagues over.
Agreed would be nice to have Lookman but to be honest another attacker was the last thing we needed to be fair. We have Bonny and Pio as backups, what we should spend thet $45m on for Lookman should be spent on a starting CB
Actually, he left for less, lol. Inter even offered 45 million euros for him. It’s true that Atalanta played hardball to prevent him from going to Inter. But it also shows how bad Marotta is at negotiating. If it’s not a free transfer, he can hardly bring in any players. Look at this transfer window, where he ended up bringing in no one and only pretended to want to sign someone. In the middle of the year, he’ll come up with the same excuses from this January transfer window, lol.
How sure are we that Marotta really offered 40-45 mln for Lookman?
Well, that’s what the Italian press reported. Whether it’s true or not is hard to say. But for those who spent money on the flops L. Henrique and Diouf (the latter still needs more testing), I wouldn’t be surprised at all.
Do we know Inter offered 45 ?
apakah boni kurang bagus? saya pikir penyerang inter tidak ada masalah, anda terlalu banyak berharap dengan yg di isukan media
