Inter Milan have failed to complete the signings of Al-Ittihad star Moussa Diaby and PSV Eindhoven veteran Ivan Perisic.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri will finish the January transfer window without a top signing.
Despite adding Croatian starlet Leon Jakirovic to the U23 squad, Inter have failed to strengthen the first team.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu was desperate to find a suitable replacement for Denzel Dumfries.
However, Al-Ittihad and PSV had no interest in selling Diaby and Perisic, respectively.
Inter Milan Finish January Transfer Window Empty-Handed

Though Inter agreed on personal terms with Perisic, the Peasants have refused to negotiate the 36-year-old’s exit.
Meanwhile, the San Siro giants submitted an official bid for Diaby, offering to sign the Frenchman on loan with an option to buy.
However, Al-Ittihad had no intention of letting their €60 million signing leave on such terms.
Therefore, Chivu will have to rely on Luis Henrique until Dumfries’ recovery.
Furthermore, Liverpool have pulled the plug on talks for Curtis Jones.
Meanwhile, out-of-favor midfielder Davide Frattesi has failed to find a new club and will stay at Inter until the end of the season.

We have to be realistic that we are not going to go out and spend 40m on Lookman, diaby or anybody.
That being said, it’s counter productive to keep openly discussing links with such players – as every team knows that if we come calling and they don’t want to sell, they just say no and we never return with an improved bid.
It’s also really disappointing for fans to keep being linked with players that might actually improve things and show attacking intent then to never happen.
I’d rather you just say you’re not interested and do everything behind the scenes.
We look like rank amateurs all the time otherwise.
Just think, if we hadn’t bought gk Martinez, Bonny, Diouf & Henrique we could have probably got donnarumma and Lookman in.

I agree this Inter is never going to spend 40m on anyone. I do believe however that the “news” and “links” to players is mostly fake, made up by pundits for their own purposes. Disappointed fans are ones that are not viewing the economic realities of Italian football currently. In 10 years when Inter have a stadium (yes I said 10 years lol) maybe their economics change for the better.
We were never ever getting Donnarumma nor Lookman regardless of other players purchased. Paulo, you know that much I am sure. You are not a new Inter fan. 🙂
we should not expect any enthusiastic news on the summer transfer market either. Stingy owners just concerned with putting as much as possible into their own pockets
true
of course the trash Niko (what a trashy name) and simple minded individuals like him will disagree with you and make false accusation. I guess inter ceo expect at least one trophy this season with their average squad + injuries. They don’t understand that the difference between inter’s points and the position 2-4 is just three matches! So if inter loses three matches, you can kiss bye to Scudetto. Those fans that throw flare at the goalkeeper should be brought to justice; what a shame making inter looks bad for nothing.
