Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly maintaining a keen interest in Roma stalwart Manu Kone.
According to L’Interista, the San Siro outfit will make a new attempt to sign the French midfielder at the end of the season.
Inter Milan had tried to sign the former Borussia Monchengladbach ace last summer.
However, Roma had no interest in parting ways with Manu Kone.
Therefore, Gian Piero Gasperini blocked the transfer, forcing Inter to lure Andy Diouf away from Lens in August.
Inter Milan to Make New Attempt to Sign Manu Kone

Despite seeing their opening bid declined, Inter will not give up on their effort to sign the 24-year-old.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu reportedly views Kone as an upgrade on both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Davide Frattesi.
Furthermore, both players could depart San Siro at the end of the season, which would only increase the need for a new midfielder.
Still, Kone, whose contract at the Stadio Olimpico runs out in 2029, won’t come cheap.
It may take up to €40 million to convince Roma to offload their standout midfielder.
we should’ve signed him, along with additional 2-3 quality players last summer, but instead, the management and ownership have decided to continue with the likes of Acerbi, De Vrij, Darmian and to bring in the likes of Henrique, Sucic, Diouf…disastrous decisions
A couple of months ago i wrote that we need to get rid of a lot of players over the summer, but then came snide comments as this isn’t a video game, sporting sector will fail and so on… The only player for whom i said that needed to leave in which i made mistake is Bisseck, he improved drastically this season. True, he still makes some defending mistakes, but much rarer now, in attack is probably one of the better defenders out there. We failed to offload last summer and this winter some of the players that needed to go at all cost, so i expect mass exodus.
Gk: We need a new starting gk, that transfer should have been made last summer. With sale of Martinez and leftover budget we could’ve bring a younger, more impressive gk, considering Martinez isn’t in future plan as new n.1 and move Sommer as backup. Now give Martinez starting place by the end of the season, as Sommer have spent all his credits, at least to recover his market value.
Lwb: Dima has played without proper replacement this season, Carlos is now completely Bastoni’s deputy.
Rwb: Darmian is old, slow and should’ve been released last summer. Dumfries is more frequently injured now, wanted a release clause, so that means he’s at the exit doors already, beside even before injury, this one was his worst season so far with us. As for Henrique don’t know what to say, true he’s new, but he got more minutes than any other new player i think and he showed lack of ability to play for us, even as a substitute he isn’t good enough if we want to compete on all fronts.
Cb: Acerbi should have been released last summer and De Vrij next summer, but management failed to deliver. This way we need a new right and central cbs.
Cm: Frattesi unreliability and lack of playing time warranted a transfer, Mhiki is a shell of himself, earned himself a retirement and Hakan is missing a third of a season because of his constant injuries, not a reliable option anymore. Hopefully Barella will soon regain his form, Piotr’s class, more minutes and confidence for both Sucic and Diouf will lead to them competing for 4th pick next season and eventually push either Nicollo or Zielinski out of starting lineup in the future with good games. Third spot should be given to Stankovic who deserved his chance to be recalled.
ST: Sick and tired of watching lazy Thuram upfront, both Pio and Bonny showed massive improvement and that they can be relied upon in the future. Doesn’t deserve with his showing triple times more of Bonny’s salary and with his sale we can finance some good incoming transfers.
