Tomas Palacios is wasting no time making an impression back in his homeland, with the Inter Milan loanee turning in two encouraging performances for Estudiantes since his return to Argentina in January.
The defender’s time in Italy was largely forgettable.
Despite arriving at Inter with a strong reputation from the Argentine league, Palacios found opportunities extremely limited at the Nerazzurri.
Indeed, a subsequent loan spell at Monza did little to change his fortunes.
With his development stalling, Inter sanctioned a loan move to Estudiantes in January.
This time with a buy-out option in the region of €6-7 million included in the agreement.
Palacios Settling In Well With Estudiantes After Struggling At Inter

The early signs back in familiar surroundings have been very positive, as noted by L’Interista.
After coming off the bench on debut, Palacios earned his first start on February 9th and delivered a commanding display, winning both of his tackles, making two interceptions, completing eight clearances and coming out on top in more than ten duels.
He followed that up with another assured outing against Gimnasia, winning six of six ground duels and holding his own in aerial battles too.
If Palacios can sustain this level of performance, Estudiantes will give serious consideration to triggering their purchase option.
For Inter, it would represent a clean and tidy exit for a player who never quite managed to find his feet in Serie A.

We keep failing to produce young talents to be in our first team. This seems to be an issue with the way we are doing things rather than the players.
We need to give young players more chances.
Robi, my men. I also like this guy, but there must be a reason why no coach plays him in europe. The same happened with barbosa. So…might be a discipline issue.
At least he’s using this chance really good so far, while Carboni is simply horrible this season, and to think it was expected that he take control of offensive play for us in the next 2 seasons.
this guy should’ve been given his chance smh Inter why?
I agree.
