Inter Milan are firmly in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba this summer, alongside Spurs and Atletico Madrid.

According to Africafoot, the Nerazzurri have been monitoring the Burkina Faso international for over two and a half years.

The centre-back has been one of the standout centre-backs in the Bundesliga this season, contributing four goals and two assists, and has attracted serious interest from across Europe.

Alongside Inter, Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid have also made enquiries, though it is the Milan club who appear to have the longest-standing interest in the player.

Inter are expected to strengthen their defensive options significantly this summer, making Tapsoba a natural fit for their recruitment plans.

The primary obstacle so far has been Leverkusen’s valuation.

The German side have been holding firm on an asking price of at least €40 million.

Indeed, for a player who still has two years remaining on his contract.

Whether Inter are willing to meet that figure remains to be seen.

However, their prolonged pursuit suggests Tapsoba ranks highly on their shortlist.
