Inter Milan are frustrated with UEFA after Lautaro Martinez picked up a calf injury on Bodo/Glimt’s artificial pitch in freezing conditions on Wednesday.
The club have already made their grievances known to European football’s governing body in Nyon, according to Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.
Scans have confirmed the Argentine captain suffered a soleus muscle complaint in his left leg.
Inter believe the synthetic surface, played on in polar temperatures, directly contributed to the injury.
Indeed, their anger is unlikely to subside quickly given the timing and the consequences.
Inter Fury As Club Blame Bodo/Glimt Pitch For Lautaro Martinez Injury

Lautaro faces around four weeks out, ruling him out of seven matches at an absolutely critical stage of the season.
He will miss Serie A clashes against Lecce, Genoa, Milan and Atalanta, the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg at Como, the Champions League second leg against Bodo/Glimt, and the potential last-16 first leg.
The Milan derby on March 8th and any immediate European fixtures are already confirmed as too soon for a return.
The most optimistic scenario sees him back for the trip to Fiorentina on March 22nd.
The worst case, however, points to an Easter weekend return in early April following the international break.
Indeed, a break that carries its own complications.
Argentina face Spain in the Finalissima on March 27th in Qatar.
It is a match Lautaro is desperate to feature in having helped his country win the same trophy against Italy in 2022.
Inter now face the most demanding stretch of their season without their captain and talisman.
This is a little bit trying to find an excuse to blame. We have been played on Artificial field before, it is not an easy field to play but there is way. If I didnt remember wrong, we used to play against Young Boys whose home field is also artificial field. We didnt attack that much, just defend and counter attack, then we won 1- 0 at 94 minute by Thuram from corner kick. I mean management should consider all the things which can help team not blaming. For me, smart play on this field is just like that, defend and seeking counter attack, if cant win, draw is definitely good.
We still played like amateurs that paid to play rather than pros who make millions. Couldn’t even move with the ball and make decent passes.
Barella and Mikhi were poor on both attack and defence. But the difference was Acerbi he made the entire defence looks like a relegation side. In fact Acerbi would’ve even be playing in a relegation squad. Chivu can play a young player in his place and at least the mistakes he makes will be lessons rather than the ones that Acerbi makes
Yea if we actually played our youth and lost I will see this as part of the process. But with all these over aged players taking minutes and also losing, its a double loss for us.
