Inter Milan finished their Champions League journey in the first knockout round, as Bodo/Glimt got the better of the Nerazzurri.
According to Calcio e Finanza via L’Interista, last night’s defeat will hit the club’s finances hard.
Despite a strong favoritism, the San Siro giants suffered a shock elimination from the Champions League playoff round.
Indeed, Bodo/Glimt emerged as 5-2 aggregate winners, having won both legs ‘to one.’
In addition to failing to avoid an early European exit, Inter will also see a significant dent in potential matchday and broadcasting revenues.
Champions League Exit to Hit Inter Milan Finances Hard

Inter Milan had reached two Champions League finals in Simone Inzaghi’s last three seasons in charge.
However, Cristian Chivu has failed to maintain his predecessor’s legacy.
Therefore, the runaway Serie A leaders have collected around €71.27 million from their Champions League participation so far.
Still, that’s approximately €65 million fewer than they did last season, when they secured a place in the grand final.
Needless to say, the lost box office revenue from San Siro matches will also hit the club’s budget.

don’t be fooled 60M if inter reach the final not 16
This is due to management, cannot blame Chivu,
If they invested more they would have gotten more
nah our squad is still way more valuable than bodo/klimt but we play like trash. I blame both
They can cut the salaries of some of their useless staff not to mention, they didn’t have any expenses in January transfer and saved money by hiring Chivu. Did these losers. expected Chivu to be at the CL final. when he is. still a rookie manager? Even Serie A is at risk unless inter wins all their matches in March. I am tired of excuses. If you wish. to. win the CL. go get Zidance Jurgen klopp. or similar. managers
none of these managers would agree coming in any case. these need a big budget which Italian teams lack
as per the budget and spendings, last summer Milan spent more than 160 million EUR which made them the biggest spender on the market, in Serie A, while we spent under 100 million. How come that they have bigger budget than us, despite us having played in the UCL finals twice in the last 3-4 years? Even Como spend more than us, let alone Atalanta!
This is all due to the bad owners who were a bit lucky moneywise after Sunning and thought they can still be lucky
The club saved money with Chivu, BUT lost a lot more by not making the 16.
But Chivu let the youngsters play. In the long run – good for us. Forza Inter brothers. I know we’re all bummed out from that exit. But thats football. We cant win all the time. Time to beat Genoa, Como, Mulan, Ataland and Viola before the nationals leave for a week. That will also give Chivu time to work with some of the youngsters.
Did the let the youngsters play ? Only a few of young players played a in a few matches. In the vast majority it was the same old players.
65 mln is not a big deal actually, because 35 mln last year was not spent but kept as profit. Another amount of money was spent to pay a part of the debt. So even without that 65 mln we can easily have the same transfer budget as last season.
That only works if you have no ideea about how budget work.
The last year money is profit for oaktree. That’s the meaning of profit.
If it was reinvested in the club it was called capex or capital expenditure.
It’s not called capex => that money is now into oaktree accounts beeing invested in other things.
You really have no clue at all. I was not saying that Okatree should reinvest the profit, they just should not get a profit this season and the gap from 65 mln is reduced to 30 mln.
Yes big US funds let profits on the table for football clubs in europe. Ok.
Most football clubs owned by American funds don’t make any profit whatsoever.
65m could means 1-2 players.
it could be a luis henrique, or a sucic.
its a coin toss on the players we sign nowadays.
