Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has displayed contrasting performances in Serie A and the Champions League this season.

According to Corriere della Sera via FCInterNews, the 45-year-old is already the best rookie in modern Serie A history.

Cristian Chivu is on the verge of winning the Scudetto in his first season in charge of the Nerazzurri.

Indeed, he has guided the San Siro giants to 64 points in the first 24 league games, steering them ten points clear of runners-up AC Milan.

Furthermore, it marks the most impressive debut season in Italy’s top flight since the 1930s.

Despite Inter’s dominant league form, they already bowed out of the Champions League.

Bodo/Glimt stunned the 20-time Italian champions in the knockout playoff round, beating them 5-2 on aggregate.

Moreover, Chivu has lost five of his first ten European fixtures in charge of the Nerazzurri.

In stark contrast, he has suffered just four defeats in 26 Serie A matches this season.
