Aleksandar Stankovic left San Siro to join Club Brugge in a deal worth just under €10 million last summer.
However, it has proved to be a career-defining choice for the 20-year-old midfielder, who has flourished at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
Indeed, Stankovic has quickly established himself as a permanent fixture in Ivan Leko’s setup this season.
To put Stankovic’s importance to Club Brugge in perspective, he has made 44 appearances in all competitions.
Furthermore, he has scored seven goals and added five assists.
Meanwhile, Stankovic’s meteoric rise in Belgium has not gone unnoticed.
Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, have reportedly been monitoring his progress for quite a while.
Still, Inter have already decided to trigger a buy-back clause in their agreement with Club Brugge.

The runaway Serie A leaders will have to splash out around €23 million to bring Stankovic back to San Siro.
However, that’s a figure they’re willing to part with to secure his services amid growing interest from the Premier League.
Once Inter bring Stankovic back, the Nerazzurri will evaluate whether to entertain offers from England.
Moreover, aware of Stankovic’s potential, they have already slapped a €35 million price tag on the rising Serbian star.
“Inter have already decided to exercise their buy-back option from Club Brugge for €23 million,” Biasin wrote. “Several Premier League clubs have shown interest in the player (valuations around €35 million).
“A decision on his place in the Nerazzurri squad for 2026/27 will be made at a later stage. (Personal opinion: if you have him, you keep him).”
