Serie A giants Inter Milan have reportedly joined the race to sign in-demand Twente center-back Ruud Nijstad.

According to CaughtOffside via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri are ready to rival several top European clubs for the 18-year-old’s signature.

Inter Milan will sever ties with at least three first-team defenders at the end of the season.

Indeed, Francesco Acerbi, Stefan de Vrij, and Matteo Darmian have failed to convince the club to extend their expiring contracts.

Therefore, they will leave San Siro as free agents in June.

Moreover, Alessandro Bastoni could also wave goodbye to Serie A, with Barcelona eager to bring him to Camp Nou.

Inter Milan Enter Race to Sign Twente Starlet Ruud Nijstad

Ruud Nijstad has enjoyed a meteoric rise at De Grolsch Veste this season, making 22 senior appearances for Twente.

Despite his relatively young age, the 18-year-old has cemented his first-team status under John van den Brom.

As such, the Dutch giants are desperate to renew his contract, though it could prove to be easier said than done.

However, the teenage sensation, whose deal expires in 2027, could make a quantum leap this summer.

In addition to Inter, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Roma have set their sights on Nijstad ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
