Inter Milan remain in the race for Leon Goretzka despite reports suggesting their interest had cooled, with the Bayern Munich midfielder set to leave as a free agent this summer and the Nerazzurri quietly keeping the door open.
According to L’Interista, Inter’s pursuit had appeared to fade in recent weeks.
In reality, the trail has not gone cold.
Goretzka simply requires careful and discreet handling given his status as a Bayern player.
The Germany international ticks multiple boxes for Cristian Chivu.
He offers physicality, quality and Champions League pedigree, precisely the box-to-box profile Inter want to add to their midfield this summer.
Inter Milan Face Competition But Refuse To Rule Out Move For Bayern Star Goretzka
His salary represents the main obstacle.
Goretzka currently earns significantly more than Inter’s typical wage structure allows.
The club believe they can negotiate that figure down to an acceptable level for a player of his calibre, and on a free transfer, the financial case becomes easier to justify.
Competition is fierce.
AC Milan and Napoli are also tracking the situation closely, and clubs from the Premier League and elsewhere will enter the picture too.
Inter, however, have no intention of walking away.
They continue to monitor Goretzka’s situation without making noise, exactly the approach required when pursuing one of Europe’s most coveted free agents.

realistic 26/27 Inter squad (3-4-2-1) :
G.vicario

Realistic? 12 new signings with barella and Zielinski benched?
Calhanoglu , frattesi , sommer , Acerbi , de vrij , luis Henrique , Thuram , mkhitaryan , Darmian , Josep Martinez and bastoni might leave of course it is realistic ( Diouf might also go on Loan )
and for the bench it can be the other way around i was thinking about the actual form of the players
Every player i mentionned is related to actual rumors we had until now , im not playing fifa

Some of the best realistic options for us to overhaul squad. Probably not all players will leave that i wrote, but a majority will. Also we need to give more minutes to U23 team and Primavera kids, and to send some of them on loan or buy-back option who are ready for the next step, like Dimarco and Stankovic were.
Maybe we could look into getting Salah on a free for maybe 2 seasons that would be an option
Well, we have to be realistic. In the last 6 years we improved our European standing, returned to it after banter era. But we still can’t compete over salary with English clubs, PSG, Spanish trio, Bayern and Arabian clubs. Max cap for salary is 6 mil per year and i don’t believe that board will go over that.
