Inter are still evaluating their long-term goalkeeping situation, with Josep Martinez and his future unresolved despite a strong recent performance amid links to Spurs keeper Vicario.
The former Barcelona goalkeeper impressed again in the win over Como, earning positive internal reviews.
However, the club have not yet seen enough to confirm him as first-choice for the future, as per L’Interista.
Behind the scenes, discussions continue over possible changes in goal.
Talks involving Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario are becoming increasingly frequent.
Indeed, with the Italian goalkeeper emerging as a serious name in Inter’s planning.
Inter View Martinez As Backup To Vicario Amid Sommer Succession
Martinez is currently seen as a potential backup option in the squad hierarchy.
However, that role may not be enough for the Spaniard.
He is understood to be unwilling to spend another season as a secondary choice and could push for a move if his situation does not improve.
Inter have not made a final decision on his future, but the direction is becoming clearer.
Martinez is not expected to be the number one goalkeeper in the club’s plans for the 2026/27 season.
With uncertainty around the position and growing interest in alternative profiles, Inter are now weighing whether to reshape their goalkeeping department in the coming transfer windows.
Not sure Vicario is a good option, Tottenham fans roast him, seems like nobody respect him there. Why don’t we use Martinez as a first choice?
The management are hell bent of signing a 29yrs old vicario that is taking spurs to relegation over martinez that has proven to deserve to be first choice. Am sure someone will be getting a commission over signing vicario if not I don’t know why inter will be going after him when he is clearly not deserving of the number choice in goal.
This is something that is on my mind also. Very strange signings. I’m thinking what they really want is to transfer oaktree money into their pockets
I think there was some news about this a while ago, maybe i’m wrong. That the agents and people in position in Italian clubs and sector took the most money, of course after England.
The transfer stories are media BS 90% of the time. I’d wait till July to believe anything. This would be a nonsensical transfer.
