Alessandro Bastoni made his 300th appearance for Inter during the 1-0 win at Cagliari on Matchday 2 of Serie A, a milestone the club celebrated as a marker of his long-standing connection with the side.

According to Inter Milan via Yahoo Sports, the Nerazzurri impressed with their build-up play and attacking output but were repeatedly denied by Elia Caprile before Hakan Calhanoglu’s long-range strike secured the victory. Bastoni also played a weighted pass in behind for Nicolò Barella in the 32nd minute, with Juan Rodriguez intervening to prevent Barella’s effort from finding the net.

Bastoni made his Inter debut on 28 September 2019 away to Sampdoria at the Marassi, approximately seven years before reaching the landmark in Cagliari. Signed from Atalanta in 2017 before loan spells at Atalanta and Parma, he has since collected three Scudetti, three Coppa Italia titles, three Supercoppa Italiana triumphs and two Serie A Best Defender awards. He is one of five players to have won all nine trophies lifted by Inter since 2020.

Defensive Contributions in Cagliari

Benjamin Pavard started in Inter’s back three against Cagliari and later moved into a wider midfield role. Yann Bisseck made a crucial late intervention, diverting Adopo’s close-range effort over the bar with his head as Inter protected their lead.
