Antonio Conte’s obsessive attention to detail came to the fore once again during Inter’s COVID-19 isolation period last week, as revealed by a leading Italian broadcaster.
The Nerazzurri resumed training at Appiano Gentile today after the club reported no further cases of COVID-19 among players, following yesterday’s latest round of tests.
Inter’s players were at home for four days before today after Milan’s local health authority (ATS) ordered a suspension of all first-team activities, following four positive COVID-19 cases in the squad (Danilo D’Ambrosio, Samir Handanovic, Stefan de Vrij and Matias Vecino).
Sport Mediaset have reported that Conte tried to keep Inter’s players in shape by sending them a specific training program to carry out at home, as well as sending them special meals prepared by the club’s nutritionist Matteo Pincella.
Inter’s seven non-Italian players called up for international duty were released by the ATS today following the news of no further positive COVID-19 tests in the squad.
The Nerazzurri’s Italian trio of Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni and Stefano Sensi are expected to be freed up to join the Azzurri soon as well.
