Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu has decided to start Carlos Augusto and Luis Henrique against Genoa. This afternoon’s Serie A clash kicks off at 18:00 CEST at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
Inter head into their fifteenth Serie A outing under Cristian Chivu off the back of a 1-0 loss to Liverpool in Tuesday’s Champions League clash.
It was a disappointing night in Lombardy, with a controversial penalty deciding the match.
Chivu continues to face a number of absences, most notably of Denzel Dumfries, as the coach decides to rest opposite number Federico Dimarco.

With Dumfries awaiting further assessment on his injury, and likely to be out until 2026, Chivu has chosen Luis Henrique to once again play on the right.
After his move from Marseille in the summer, the Brazilian initially struggled in his first few months in black and blue.
However, recently his form has improved and Chivu seems to have settled on the Brazilian as the ‘stop-gap’ with Dumfries out.
On the opposite flank, Carlos Augusto steps in for Dimarco, who the coach has chosen to rest for the trip to Genoa.
The versatility of Inter’s squad continues to serve as a boon for Chivu, with defensive players able to fill a number of roles.
Without Calhanoglu, Chivu Turns to Zielinski & Sucic For Creativity
Hakan Calhanoglu also continues to sit out through injury, as the Nerazzurri hope to have him back for the Supercoppa Italiana.
Inter’s midfield three today consists of Petar, Piotr Zielinski and Nicolo Barella.
Chivu is therefore keeping options like Henirkh Mkhitaryan and Andy Diouf on the bench.

Finally, in attack, Inter will have Lautaro Martinez lead the line alongside Francesco Pio Esposito
It was a close ballot to partner the Argentine but the Italian took the spot.
Therefore starting over Ange-Yoan Bonny and Marcus Thuram.

de rossi has not had a good team to coach. he may not be great with tactics but he has the habit of bringing the best out of people. emery is good, but he needs players who our management will definitely not buy! so we enjoy chivu and hope for the best for now. but if things go sidewards, I hope we get rossi.
