Inter are working to give the coach Roberto Mancini the ideal players to improve a squad that has shortages in some departments, One of these is still the central midfield role. The name that seems more in fashion is that of Lucas Pezzini Leiva, the Liverpool midfielder born in 1987, that the coach has appreciated for quite some time.
During the press conference ahead of the match against Lazio, Mancio stressed that it may be right for the Inter players who are struggling to find space elsewhere, and the identikit – besides Alessio Cerci for this role – fits the player from Dourados. The sporting director Piero Ausilio has had contacts with the entourage of the Brazilian (who has an Italian passport) and has been met with acceptance. According to Tuttosport a deal seems likely for now, considering that the Reds would be open the possibility of a loan.

Is he the only option for DM?
Disaster! Lucas Leiva it’s not upgrade, but absolute downgrade.
Fine fine, he is a fine player and has been doing well – some years really well for Liverpool – maybe he will doing even better in Serie A and still only 27 years old (will turn 28 in January) so many of his best years in front of him! Plus his better with the ball than any of our defensive midfielders (Medel, Mvila and Krhin). Like this deal!
What about trying to send Guarin to Liverpool in stead of Coutinho who’s not doing well this year?? (A dream yes, but still 🙂 )
Lucas is the only holding midfielder LFC has. He was stupidly frozen out by thr egotist Rodgers until he was forced to bring him back as Gerrard was hopless. Now he might loan him out! Madness.
