Wolfsburg are said to be resigned to losing their left-back Ricardo Rodríguez this summer. Despite being contracted to the Lower Saxony club until 2019, the expectation is that the Swiss defender’s €22 million release clause will be paid this summer.
Meanwhile, Kicker does not expect VfL’s leadership to stand in the player’s way, should he wish to join another club. However, sporting director Olaf Rebbe has postponed discussions for the time being: “This is something we’ll talk about at the end of the season.”
