Javier Zanetti spoke with Radio Nacional about the upcoming season:
“The goal is to form a competitive team, we will do what we can. Inter have planned to set up a great team to return as one of the best teams. The idea is this, we hope to do a great job and bring back players next season. Di Maria a possible target? I do not like to go into details, let’s see what happens. But then again, the idea is to build a great team”..
On Medels transfer talk. “I do not mind the market, I can not give this kind of information.”
On the purchase of young midfielder Banfield Cecchini. “I have no news.”

same old story lol
it’s funny to seeing people up here are upset and jealous over milan who buying shit like playing football manager or career mode in fifa & pes. i mean come on we already do that in the past and as you can see we are falling apart because chemistry isn’t easily made up like playing those games. we need consistency and people who working together for like 3-4 years in order to make things working well. also we need player in the right time in the right place and in the right formation also in order to get everything work as our coach needed. inter surely now trying their best to fix thing that didn’t work in the past or trying to learn from their mistake like appointing a new coach in the middle even almost near end of the pre season, buying player but didn’t watch the ffp coming then we are banned in the europa league that makes us cannot register player we already bought so we are falling apart in the euro league and affected the moral of our player.. dont forget to mention that our player must working extra hard in that competition because of the rotation didnt work, silly transfer like
caner erkin whose take our eu spot for nothing, didnt have leader role or wise old experience player makes our mentality equal to baby chicken who losing their mother, hving shitty captain who didnt have any effect to bring our team rise up instead only causing trouble and many more oh god im tired typing all this thing.
our management working in silent get everything done. getting a new coach before the season start then brilliant job avoiding ffp also knowing lack of leader figure so management bring borja valero is a few thing that management done right. all the thing that inter needed to do is having consistent formation, fixing our biggest weak spot in fullback and defense, getting few big names and the job is complete. all we have to do now is wishing us the best luck cause everything outside the field is also having major impact too like liverpool one day when they’re only losing mane because of africa cup and liverpool decreasing so much, oh yeah sassuolo too when EDF losing so many player due to injury and in the end of season they’re finish in the bottom spot even though last season they’re battling in the top 6 spot
so fucking right bro.. salutee to u.. true interista.. 🙂
Inter fans here are bloody impatient. I’d be happy if at the end we sign Berardi, Benassi, Duncan, Bernadeschi, Barecca, Dalbert, Acerbi. On the other hand I’d also be content with one of Davinson Sanchez, Nainggolan, Naby Keita or Douglas Costa
The talk is over. We need an actions from the players. Please show us that u guys can make interfans proud!!! I am tired of waiting!!!
Creative a competitive team? lol.
You dont create a competitive team by targeting young, inexperienced and error prone defenders (Skriniar, Sanchez etc etc), finished/over-the-hill wingers and midfielders (Di maria, Valero etc etc) or super overpriced players with little end product (Douglas Costa etc etc).
Hmm so we shouldnt targeting young defender, experienced players, and then players between them.. so who do you suggest we should buy?
Experienced defenders and then midfielders/attackers who are nearing their prime. in the right age who has resale value and doesnt cost 2x more than they are worth just because of their name.
Good. Haha. Unfortunately nowadays is very difficult to find those names that suitable to criterias above.
if you dont build a team from young players, or buy experience players you have exactly what inter is doing: buying mediocre middle aged players, and lose.
dumb comment.
too bad his vice-presidency is only symbolic position at the club… either give him power or don’t appoint him as vice-president. because if he had any say in the club’s everyday life, we wouldnt be where we are at right now
You really think that Zanetti doesn’t any say in the club his position is more symbolic.
I think that our biggest problem is that we dont have a real leader figure in the team. Icardi? Definitely isnt the guy. We used to have zanetti, cambiasso, samuel, materazzi, stankovic, which all are leaders. Now we have none meanwhile our rival like juve still have buffon, chiellini, marchisio , roma still have de rossi, napoli has hamsik. Meanwhile inter and Milan are both struggling because we have lost our key players but couldnt replace it with the right guy.
That’s why it’s actually good to have serie A experience guy in the team like borja valero or nainggolan hoping that they can carry the team.
We are now buiding the team in the right direction last season buy signing candreva and miranda which older and gagliardini, gabigol, joao mario. Now this season, we only need to address the problem in the team which is lack of experience in midfield and weak in defence especially fullback.
icardi as a captain is horrible
As long as he still thinks of a raise his wage all of the times and his wife cant resist asking for more n more… icardi will never be true leader in INTER !!!
i never heard n read news JZ4 or chucu asking for more wages all the times..
I’m Sorry Zanetti is a great legend and all but this needs to stop we have to stop becoming Argentina national team. Really is time to go for young players and not players that in their 30’s or soon to be. Bernardeschi & Berardi should have been Inter top priority and not Di Maria, Naingolan and overrated Borja, so happy Chelsea got Ruddiger. If they want quality and versatility then go for Reus he is cheaper and his salari is 50% less than Di Maria. I hate to say it but Merda Milan is planning for the future, while the one’s upstairs are planning for one season only they are making players that are around 30 a priority this is BS man. I have had it already. Ricardo Rodriguez was rumor for the last season and Milan got him. We haven’t got anything some youngster and that’s it we are going nowhere while the team keeps been handle in a bad way. They have to target players like Bernardeschi, Berardi, N’Golo, Koke, “Ramos if they want experience in the defense”,Benassi, Alderweireld, Rugani,Koulibaly, Darmian, Alaba, Perin, Scuffet those kinda players need to a priority and not the other way around.
i agree 100 percent, we are buying players that will last one season, we are the worst managed team in the world, I cant believe we let our chief scout join milan, so we already had one competitor for all the players we had scouted, they basically stole our scouting reports by taking the main man. They have less effluent owners yet signing better quality players what a joke.
They didn’t steal fassone we let him go! All ac is doing is buying mediocre players at good prices! Except Andre Silva, he is on another level! We have a full squad we just need two full backs and our targets are perfect such as dalbert and aurier and another cb like the skriniar buy! Inter signed this summer 6 youngsters pellegri selcado odgard zaniola and two more! Time to get a cm and winger that have the experience to take us to cl
Couldn’t agree more. I think Saba has given his magical time at the moment. Lets see then what will happen next. Hope a good quality winger even we sold perisic or not, coz Candreva is not consistent anymore altho He still have some greatness from the past. Overall I think we started good by far this season. Forza Inter!!
We did it in the last couple of seasons. We bought kondogbia, murillo, brozovic, gabigol, joao mario, dodo, botta, icardi, gagliardini, and yet you know only icardi whose value increase and the rest are still inconsistent. I think we are heading the right direction to have a balance mix of old and young players in the team. Di maria, borja valero, nainggolan, vidal are extraordinary names that will make difference on the field. Meanwhile Milan’s signing looks promising but young players will take times to integrate moreover they will probably have 8 out of 11 new starters. I agree with management if they aim to get players that matures even it costs more and not future proof. But at the same time we also buying young talents which will bloom in 2-3 years ahead.
And Reus definitely isnt cheaper than di maria.
Murillo he got there thanks to Cordoba, Murillo wasn’t even that good he never played for Udinese and was loan a couple of time in Spain it was a flop a mile away. Kondogbia another flop a mile away they were blind because he was phisically strong. Gabidol LOL this can be one of the worse Inter signing in decades they got so entusiastiatic because of what he did in a short tournament.
Joao Mario / Gagliardini best signing done in decades, Icardi his ego gets the better of him I would sell him hands down if there’s and offer around 80M€ for him he is not captain material.
We are not going anywhere signing players that are around 30 that will last one or two seasons.
Reus is way better than Di Maria hands down when I say cheaper, I was referring to his salary too. he is two years younger he doesn’t tend to hide in big games like Di Maria. So no to Borja, Di Maria, Vidal and Naingolan players that are over price.
They way Inter handles their youth now this days they will blossom in 5 to 7 years not 2 – 3, and Milan is getting experience players that are not even close to their 30’s.
Di Maria is almost 30 and it will cost around 60M€ for a players that hides in big games.
So yeah I will get Reus that can cost something around that 2 years younger has enough experience and doesn’t hide.
Yeah i mentioned those youngsters just to prove that youngsters wont take us to the top. My point is that young players are good only if we have experienced players to guide them and we need those experienced names. But not mediocre old players like palacio, melo, or some shit. But guaranteed proven names such as borja valero, nainggolan, vidal. However, yeah it might be better if they are a bit younger thus have more years ahead.
Yes I agree Reus is way better and younger than Di Maria. And I am sure that if he’s available, many teams including us will pursue him. But in fact, he’s not available right now.
Also reus is extremely injury prone
Kondogbia wasn’t a flop from a mile away! In actual fact he was 1 of europes hottest young midfielders at the time we purchased him he had just finished a excellent uefa champions League campaign with monaco in which he lead them to the semi finals!! I guess you forgot how Kondogbia haammered arsenal in the ucl quarter finals in arsenal, kondogbia has been a victim of inters merry go round of coaches
Sorry but he was just because you have one good season doesn’t mean you are good or the next big thing. hottest young midfielder? nobody knew who Kondogbia was really Monaco a overrated team that is in the map because of the money. Wow Arsenal the biggest thread for all the teams in Europe”Sarcasm”. Kondogbia hasn’t be the victim of any coaches he didn’t live to his price tag proving that he is a flop different coaches and they have the same in common, He is slow out of place, gives to may balls away and commits to many fouls.
Let’s ask Messi to give the Ballon d’Oro because Kondogbia destroy Arsenal in fact let’s give Santon one to because he destroy CR7back one he was in Manchester Untd “sarcasm”
The truth that he is physically strong nothing else to it.
Everyone is entailed to your opinion and I respect yours.
well we did buy young players but what we did with rano was extremely a past which we didn’t want to be repeated. we chose a young leader but he wasn’t prepared even though he did learn from the best at his arrival. icardi was too..so, defiantly young or experienced players are not the only problems we have
That’s what I’m trying to say is with the management it has always been that an a couple of players that thing that they are the next big thing or have ego problems.
I didn’t mind Ranocchia been captain he’s problem wasn’t because he was young, he wasn’t good enough an end up flopping.
many of Inter fans regret the day Moratti choose Ranocchia over Bonucci and the later one is one of the best CB now this days while the other one is a player for mid table team or less.
I think almost eveyrone now that one of the condition for Icardi to renew his contract with the club was to be appointed captain and they have the brilliant idea to agree with him. So we have a good strike that it could be better if not for his ego and the fact that not many fans see eye to eye with him.
So the bigger problem is the management getting player that are in their 30’s is not taking us anywhere. That’s going back after winning the treble when they lost the form and started to let the team and fans down.
I support getting players that are 20 – 28 there’s is enough youth- experience and balance in that range. Getting a player that is 29 maybe I could tolerate but not overpaying for him EX: Di Maria or Vidal(30).
in facn I support getting Ramos that is above the range that I’m giving if they want to look for experience in the defence Miranda is ok but I’m not that crazy for him.
In fact the one that should have been captain is handanovic he is more leader. But everyone knows whom whas choosen.
theres a few different issues i have with this comment:
A) we’ve been an argentinian national team for like 15 years now.
B) if you dont want a young player or a player near 30, then who do you realistically expect to come to inter and how do you expect to win with them.
A) There’s more to Argentinian players in the world at least the fan in Italy has had enough of it. Plus the latest has been flops besides Zanetti, Cambiasso, Milito, Redondo I don´t recall that many great Argentinian players that we had and Samuel doesn’t count as one he had 2- 3 good seasons. B) I don’t have a problem with young players infact I want more young players meaning 20 – 25 but I really don’t players that will last a season or 2 hence Di Maria, Vidal, overrated Borja etc etc. I wouldn’t get anyone that’s over 28. The things that the management is poor especially when it comes to handle the players in the primavera there’s plenty of talent there but they don’t how to handle that kind of talent.
Best comparison I’ll come with is Bonucci he was a product of inter youth team but they decided to go for Ranocchia back in 2010, who end up been better and is consider one of the best CB now this days? Bonucci. That’s what I was refering when they know how to handle there on youth system due to a bad management.
