Diego Milito answered some questions from Tuttomercatoweb at Nanjing, where he attended the Inter-Lyon ICC match:
Still little work, but what is your idea about this new Inter?
“Certainly I think it’s positive. There is much confidence now with the arrival of Spalletti, no doubt he’s an excellent coach who will work with a group of good players.”
Icardi has scored many goals: to name him your successor is too much?
“No, I prefer not to compare, I never liked that, everyone has their own characteristics, but Mauro is very good, we are talking about a great striker, I’ve always said that, I hope the next season is a championship that is better for him than the past ones.”
About the championship: is Juventus the absolute favorite?
“In Italy there are so many great teams, not just Juve, and next season will be tough: in addition to the Bianconeri there are also Roma and Napoli, and also Inter. All will play to the end.”
The treble winner closes off his interview: “I thank all the Interista for all the affection, they have given me everything, and I have also tried to do the same. They will always be in my heart.”

The diffrence is Milito was a team player with the heart at right place, Icardi is just a self loving cunt

Milito became Milito at the age of 29. Icardi earned his rightful place to be compared to Milito at the age of 24. Icardi will become better than Milito at the age of 29. That’s a sure thing!
Hahahahahaha read something about Milito, he had offers from Chelsea and other big clubs since 22-23 years old but he didn’t care about the big money like Icardi and his bitch Wanda.
Icardi is luckily if he gets to 50% of Milito. Hulk and other famous players score loads of goals in Chinese and American futboll leagues but guess what no one takes those goals into account.
Same as Icardi’s goals when we end 7th,8th and so on.
Learn smth about football !
LOL, yes he rejected all those contracts to play for GENOA :)))
And scoring in a club that’s struggling with support from Ricky, Kuzmanovic, Taider, etc is much harder than scoring for undisputed champions with passes from Eto’O, Snejder, Stankovic, Cambiasso, etc.
I have a lot of respect from El Proncipe, but I don’t understand some nerazzuro’s obsession with 2010 champs, and villification of our best player for the past 5 years. You don’t like the bitch wife, nor that tattoos, I get it. But you never can question the guy’s achievement and goal scoring capability.
Icardi is a clinical finisher probably the best around, but he lacks of other skills even for creating spaces or defending, but Milito was a joy to watch, sadly he didn’t last that long with us. For me they are totally different players, can’t find any similar aspects besides their nation.
Best player that disappears in 60% of the matches ??
Milito played for the team, while the team plays for Icardi and he still doesn’t show up when he need him most.
Don’t tell me about being the best goalscorer of the league when we finished 7th and lower with him.
Until this season it has all been about Icardi and that is one of the main reasons why we have struggled.
With Da Boer we saw that if we play team football things can go a lot better but unfortunately almost every other coach we had, had the most stupid strategy ever.
FEED ICARDI WITH BALLS which was a complete disaster because that way we get too predictable and he doesn’t have the skills required to dominate his zone, he can if he wants but he’s quite a lazy player.
I saw how he played against Juventus and if he did play only 70% like that every game Inter would be a whole lot better.
But he scores 2 goals every 3-4 matches and then he just sleeps in between matches -_-
You’re disregarding Milito’s skills and achievements because ‘he has won his first trophy at the age of 29’? For playing in ‘small clubs’ like Genoa? I will tell you a secret: Diego always was a goal scoring machine, he just went to his first (and only) big club at the late age. I love Milito, not only for his goals, but also for his class, he’s a gentleman, unlike majority of footballers. Icardi better? I don’t think so, and you can’t be sure such things, anyone can decline or destroy his career like Adriano. Icardi is our best player, but he hardly can be considered as a leader, and, he didn’t won anything yet. We don’t miss only 2010, we miss also 00s, and late 90s when we had Ronaldo, Vieri, Crespo, Adriano, Ibra…
I’m not disregarding Milito’s career. El Principe was a late bloomer, but a very complete striker. This brother (who thinks Belfodil is a great striker btw) said that Milito had offers from big clubs at the age of 22-23 which sounded ridiculous to me. All I said is, Icardi achieved the right to be already compared to one of our all-time greats like Milito, and because he has age on his side, he has the POTENTIAL to become better.
Maybe not at age of 23, but I’m sure Madrid wanted him when he was at Genoa (age 25?), they didn’t bought him and were regreting this when he scored 4 goals against them in Zaragoza, he was 26 then. So he’s not a ‘late bloomer’, an extremely underrated player I’d say. Icardi.. yes, he scores goals, but as I said he must win something, and we all hope it happen in an Inter shirt.
They are different types of players….
in this case you compare how many goals they scored, everyone is different
Milito feet hold ball like a glue, Icardi’s is pinball pin. But, for over 20 goals/year I wouldn’t complaint so much
moratta is and lukaku, the reason you say that is because of this passes they give him that’s too hard to control we don’t have beckham that gives the ball like pillow
Milito is a legend for sure. Icardi is a promising talent and can be as great as Milito. Everything will depend on Icardi’s own hard work and his psychological development and maturity. I wish Icardi to become a new-Milito or new-Batistuta.
Milito is a legend ,icardi is a joke compared to il Principe del bernal
Icardi more danger in the box… milito stylish striker and more complete as striker.. but icardi not a joke man…
of course Milito is a legend, you know what? meanwhile icardi will tatooed his butt
apparently winning Capocannoniere at age 21/22 is a joke….
I am not hating on icardi i’m just saying that compared to the great Diego Milito he is a joke.
And in my opinion Edin Dzeko is better than Icardi and you can say what you want. But/and if he doesn’t up his game this season Spaletti will replace him with Eder.
Icardi is a promising talent, but so was Balotelli and we all know the rest of the story..
Can’t take you seriously when you say Dzeko is better than Icardi, sorry… Dzeko is a medicore starter at best and a great bench player, if I’d had to rate him.
he really said dzeko is better than icardi?
Yes he/i did say that
dzeko is a sloth
My Interista brother, i am not here to argue with you or anyone else here,i am only sharing my opinion. And i’m not trying to offend anyone.
And as i said Edin Dzeko imo is better than Mauro Icardi.
Anyway Forza Inter
last season he was maybe slightly , but icardi is still better and that’s my opinion
agreed, but just about dzeko’s heading ability.
LMAO,

That’s your opinion, and i have my own opinion..
No need to apologise 🙂
you’re a great striker.. i hope icardi can be as good as you someday..
