FC Internazionale have confirmed the signing of Valencia defender Joao Cancelo on a loan deal with option to make permanent.
Cancelo, who plays predominantly as a right-back, made 91 appearances and scored four goals in all competitions in his time at the Mestalla.
The official statement on inter.it reads: “João Pedro Cavaco Cancelo is a new Inter player. The Portuguese moves to the club on loan until 30th June 2018 with an option to make the deal permanent.
“Welcome to Milan João and best of luck for this new experience with the Nerazzurri!”
The 23-year-old has represented Portugal at every youth level from U16 to U21, appearing the U21 European Championships in both 2015 and 2017. His senior debut came in September 2016 in a friendly against Gibraltar in which he scored a goal on debut.
I wish he would listen carefully to Spalletti words so that he can follow the offensive-type FB trail like Bruno Peres..

Even if he would fail as rb he can at least be a good depth player for rw position. We don’t have too many attacking wingers anyways atm. Hopefully he will shine as rb.

I’ve heard people talking harshly about his defending skills but praising him on overall talent and offensive prowess, which can be a bit worrying if we want a strong defense. Hopefully, Spalletti can get the best out of him and we get a great fullback or even a winger. What makes this a good deal is it being loan with option to buy, it’s pretty much the best possible outcome, we get to test him and if he works out, we can buy him, otherwise we simply return him.
Can’t see this guy benching D’ambro, but he’s gonna bench Candreva for sure. Hopefully we’ll sign another RB like Aurier instead making a big buy for the right wing.

Dumbo is an accident waiting to happen anyways. Sooner or later he will make his usual brainfarts that leads to goals as he always does.
Cancelo will obviously get a chance or else he wouldnt have been signed.
He will have to be pretty awful not to bench Dumbo tbh. Same goes for Dalbert.
he is awful at defending ! and dumbo is been pretty solid tbh for some times, but cancello kills dumbo going forward, we all have to wait and see , but last time a very similar player Montoya came over the rest was history, these players we are signing cancello and dalbert are not fullbacks, they are wing backs like marco alonso
Dumbo is not solid, he is a huge liability. We all know he is prone to brainfarts.
But as far as cancelo and Dalbert goes, then the real problem with playing 2 offensive FB’s is that we dont have a great DM who can properly help covering for the them when they go forward.
dumbo is not that solid but is better than cancello at defending, you will see, I know cancello for a long time he was really good when he was like under 20, then he fell off and no one even talked about him, now he is getting recognition again

I hope he will soon understand Italian Football. Defense is the key. We have now so many speedy counter attacks. Dalbert, Perisic, Candreva, Cancelo. I hope we defend well against Roma, then we kill them with 2,3 counter attacks

I doubt it very much, what dalbert showed was very worrying, real champions don’t choke that bad
Considering the amount of money and time we waste for dalbert, if dalbert wont be great player for us, it will be a huge dissapointment
