Stefano Vecchi did not hide his disappointment. The coach of Inter’s Primavera, on how he has matured today from the game against Dinamo Kiev in the first leg of the Youth League to the Inter Channel: “We know that we had to win here, hoping that they would not score, but today we gave away too much and were far behind after the first half. We were not able to take control of game, although we had many good opportunities to score, we were not able to unlock our potential to finish them. I cannot tell if this was there best or worst result, I only know that we have highlighted many areas for improvement. We were not a collective unit today, and the individuals were not able to go for goal alone, because the team were not working towards it and unfortunately we paid the price. We did well to recover, the chance is still there, but it will take extra spirit to come back. Maybe everyone was focused too much on impressing on the big stage that we did not play together properly”.

However in the end, Vecchi can still be satisfied: “For certain I expected something more, but in the end a draw is fine and we will have to play again at their home. But it is regrettable that if the real Inter had been out there today we would have won, maybe we still could of won today without them. Now we have to understand the environment we play in next, how they will play, how we will play. I know the best team will win, now I hope to see the team from last week back because we have to start thinking about the championship race and we will be back”.

“To many expectations and underestimates? Absolutely no underestimates, certainly though the expectations were high, they all wanted to display themselves well but the team lost shape. They can only perform well if they play together, playing individually made them look bad, especially in offensive situations”.
