After the draw against Napoli, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti had the following to say about tonight’s hardfought draw away at the Stadio San Paolo when speaking with Sky Sport Italia.
“We performed great against a great opponent. We bring home an important point after an important performance. It is obvious that if you analyse the players and their mentality there is a lot to improve. We want to do have an important season in the Serie A and tonight we got the chance to play well and to do even better. Napoli came from a tough game in the Champions League, maybe our players could have tried to challenge them more.”
Spalletti was asked about Inter’s chances of winning the Serie A saying: “I do not want to talk about the scudetto. We are still growing as a team, we are getting some good results but there are certain things where we can improve. We are at the same level as Napoli, sometimes we control the game, sometimes we do not manage to get even two passes to the right address. That is where we have to improve.”
In conclusion Spalletti was asked about Icardi’s performance: “He is used to working hard behind the line of defence, of course he could help out more.”

Man of the match? Hysai & Insigne
Our man of the match? No doubt D’Ambrossio & Candreva
Our real man of the match? Spaletti.
My game review:
1. Spaletti did it well when it comes to observe the game. Glad he didn’t bring on Karamoh/Dalbert, and substitute Candreva 4 Cancelo on late game because if he does earlier, it will leave great hole on the wing an napoli trio will be ghost 4 us in entire game.
2. He is very clever to let Napoli dominate 1st half so they run out gas in last 30 minute. I just wonder why he bring Joao Mario 4 valero instead Eder.
3. I saw this squad is adaptate each other, they’re growing.
4. So far we can see that we clearly need someone to speed up tempo from the midfield.
I strongly believe we can qualify for CL next year.
well said !
spaletti is the real deal (leaving mou wonder era aside )name a better coach who truley understand football and player managements that came and coach us in the last 20 years ! we had manchitini mou, and all the other coaches were consilidation coachs ! look how nagatomo errors are very few under him
I’d be so amazing if jubeshiit dont get the scudetto this year..intead napoli gets it and we got 2nd place
In winter mercato we need to upgrade the Left Back issue…If Dalbert couldn’t beat Naga then we should go ambitious for this position.
Other positions are well covered… we just need that LB to be more assuring.
Well to me…naga had a decent game vs arguably the best attacking team in serie A currently but if you know anything about naga is that you can’t rest on your laurels with him so yeah…one LB would be nice but I still think Spaletti is grooming dalbert into a solid LB ..alot of stuff happen behind the scenes that we may not be aware of so no worries!
Naga is a bit lucky… don’t you see that most Napoli attack goes thru our right?
Insigne & Co are all there. Even Hamsik wonderful passes always goes over our right side.
He was only troubled by Hysaj occasional (but dangerous) foreray. Callejon is there too but Napoli mostly try to break our defense from the our right (and Callejon were supposed to be waiting on our left but the final pass rarely did materialised thanks to our CB).
Naga still is quite the shit, noticed how many times he failed to beat a defender or misplace a pass when he was moving forward with the ball?
The difference with him now is that Spalletti has made him see the realities that he is just barely decent and should try to do thing within his limits.
He has dial down (but still not eliminate) wasteful, ambitious, OTT attempts e.g. trying to score goal for himself, but still had a go once last night. End result of his attempt? A meek and horrendous shot that escaped most people watching the game.
