After the 3-2 victory over Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, Luciano Spalletti arrived at the official post match press conference to answer the questions of the gathering media representatives.
Have you analyzed the game saying that the opponents are a factor, but what changed after the Vecino change?
“Matias ended the match in Naples just because I did not have any midfielders, I told him to grit his teeth, then we recovered for today, but we did not know how long he would have lasted. We brought him to the end of the match, I was obliged to replace him, plus I needed to hold a ball with Joao Mario, and now they say that he can not play. The only downside is that he lowered the team, lost two balls and in front we faced a team that capitalized. Sampdoria has a strong team, despite selling their best players.”
Did you expect to be have 26 points after 10 matches?
“The fact of the number of points is an issue that I do not want to get into, the thing that makes me more pleased is the work, the participation of the group on the road to this season, so I am happy with these guys. It is a must to try to win all the matches: there is no truce until the end of the championship, what becomes important is that players have perceived it.”
You only used 14 players in your starting line-ups this season, is there a design behind it?
“There is a feeling that needs to be created, so you have to be lucky and we are making the right choices at the beginning. Then you have to make the players feel that this year we should be able to create a core. I didn’t use Dalbert because he is a bit tired, but I did not put him on either because we played deeper by removing Vecino to bring on Joao Mario. We will improve now.”
The record of points dates back to Ronaldo, are you the Ronaldo of this Inter?
“I played as a player, and when I was not playing football they told me to stay home. It’s fantastic to be with these guys, who all come to training to start working two and a half hours before trainign starts. I am lucky.”
Should we talk about an Inter that can win the Scudetto?
“As long as you ask, it means we are not talking about it, we have to play so many games. What is crucial is the discussion regarding our football which is what we want to take home with us, even tonight, we let up two in goals two plays. We must slowly gain confidence.”
Sampdoria coach Giampaolo said you were afraid they would equalize, is it true?
“I was not afraid, I was sure that Sampdoria could hurt us, and at the same time I knew my players would not let up.”
In the Italian interview he said he had a mild form of muscle fatigue.
Like Vecino.
” Affaticamento”.
In this case ” muscle fatigue” is meant.
We really don’t know what Spalletti and his staff is working on and doing with the players. I´m sure Dalbert has a program only made for himself in order to make him more ready for Italian football both on a psychical level and tactical! And he wouldn’t be the first player who needs time on the training pitch before playing games, just look at Utd´s Lindelöf or who belove average Henrikh Mkhiritarian was last season for Utd before adjusting to the English way of playing this year.
Mate, my comment was not serious at all. I am aware of all this things
Overall,, the boys just need a bunch of champagne and cheer!!!
Forza inter
I was thinkinh the same thing.
Every season there is that one player who is loved by fans but coach decided to bench him,
Like with Gabigol…..
Didn’t know Dalbert was “loved by the fans”.. what excatly has he done to make us all love him? Mario is loved but Dalbert?
Because was a player that supposed to bench Nagatomo.
Thats why
He had a couple of games and true he showed promises in his last game but actually Naga has played really well this year and Dalbert is still very young (22 or something) so he need to learn a thing or two to be ready for Italian football – which you also could see when he played!
Tbh for me this season this player is Karamoh
2015: ” I want to see more of Gnokouri! “.
2016: ” I want to see more of Gabigol and Pinamonti! “.
2017:” I want to see more of Karamoh and Dalbert!”.
But , thing is, Spalletti , unlike a spectator, doesn’t ” need to see” them .
He sees Karamoh and Dalbert every single day in training.
…and then he decides who plays and who doesn’t. .
He does not need ..” to see them “..like an impatient fan.
Trying to beat Yogatomo for lb position must be tiring, it haunts you even at sleep.
Is like trying to pee against the wind. Hahaha
All that bench warming does seem quite tiring.
“Matias ended the match in Naples just because I did not have any midfielders, I told him to grit his teeth, then we recovered for today, but we did not know how long he would have lasted. We brought him to the end of the match, I was obliged to replace him,”
great respect for vecino who fight till the end for this team..^^
Love Vecino! He has it all and his run with the ball at his feet is a pleasure to watch!
Love Spalletti´s enthusiasm and not wanting to keep the players feet on the ground but at the same time he is brilliant at hailing the players for their work and willing to self-sacrificing them selves for the good of the team – which is what has brought up to the top of the table!
nice article
