Gazzetta dello Sport talk about Inter’s iron defence, but point out that it is starting to weaken in comparison to the beginning of the season. Gazzetta empathise: “7 goals scored in the last six games, including two opponents in the top six”. However Inter’s defence is no longer as compact, but Luciano Spalletti has not made any changes. In Rome they were lucky to not concede more as Roma hit the woodwork many times and were punished by Inter as a result (3 goals scored), now it seems Perisic, Icardi (who hit the woodwork three times against Sampdoria combined) and Vecino are also being prevented by the woodwork.
Although this does not change the fact -with the exception of Napoli – that Inter have conceded to Benevento, Milan (2), Sampdoria (2), Verona and Torino. Gazzetta identifies the reasons for this, with errors from Handanovic, Nagatomo, D’Ambrosio and Miranda who are always trying to play with risk. Now Inter have conceded 9 goals in comparison to their rivals, Roma (7 but with one less game played) and Napoli (8) who have made fewer individual errors.
Now for Spalletti, who has invested most of his time working on the movements and synchronisation of the back line, must now readdress the issue on a collective level. Due to the fact that the play must carry Icardi, with Borja Valero now firmly becoming first choice trequartista, while Candreva and Perisic provide both offensive and defensive service. This must all be taken in while remembering the fact that Dalbert should be integrated soon after weeks of work at Pinetina on tactics – there could even be an opportunity for Ranoccchia as Miranda may be distrusted.
” Defensive cracks showing = start Ranocchia “…really, REALLY bad drug consumer.
Simply the Milan based newspaper who is -as far as I remember owned by Berlusconi- that tries to mind fuck us before the next round which will be crucial because of the many head to heads
This Gazzetta dello Sport journalist has a serious crack in his brains.
have no issue giving rannochia a try. it would be nice to see how he partners with skriniar. Miranda has looked shaky. you never know, they may compliment one another.
Nope.
I have all kinds of issues giving Ranocchia ” a try “.
He has had all humanly possible ” trials” at his disposal, multiplied by 7 , and failed them all with no exception.
Also:
He is the slowest defender in Serie A and has always been, so ,now that he is turning 30 and hasn’t played in a while he is NOT going to magically become fast ,somehow.
i get that, erroneous and slow. still think its a good idea as a trail with spaletti. If God forbit one of the current centre backs through injury or suspension, we need a viable backup. Id rather he start before then.
rano over miranda!? really!? no, i’m not rano’s hater but as bad as miranda now, he still better than rano.. if we want to give chance to him, it should be in less important game. we’re in critical moment now, we don’t need to take the risk now. maybe rano for copa italia..
Yes, and as far as replacing Miranda if he gets one more yellow card (soon we are goinna have to, Miranda is only one card away ..) for a serious serie A game I would go with D’ambro or Santon in the middle before I ever use Rano.
d’ambro would be the better option since we can play santon, cancelo, or even nagatomo on the right..
Yes , but if you check out the inter training videos you find that Spalletti has been often testing Santon as CB.
He seems to have that option very much in mind.
let’s spall decide, since he see them day by day in the training grown.. maybe he don’t believe in cancelo yet to play as or RB, and he would use santon there.. santon is not a bad option for his height is very ideal for a cb tbh. i remember him play in 3 man defense in the past to, not regularly, but he have been there..^^
Yes cancelo appears to be candreva sub for now.
But a serious alternative at that .
I have a feeling cancelo is going to get some starting XI places here and there soon , in a game or two.
More him than Dalbert.
Santon as a CB??? Lol. No his positioning is horrible as are his tackles. Ranocchia is not that bad. Remember he is coming off a great half season with Hull City.
