Inter centre-back Milan Škriniar has been included in UEFA’s list of the top 50 young players to watch in 2018. The Slovak has earned a lot of praise thanks to the consistency with which he has performed since his move from Sampdoria last summer.
Initially, the move had been greeted with a degree of scepticism, with many Nerazzurri fans keen to see a more established defender partner Miranda in the heart of Luciano Spalletti’s defence.
Indeed, the 22-year-old has been so impressive that clubs such as Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City have already been linked with a big money move for him next summer, though it is clear Inter would be loathed to lose him as they seek to reestablish themselves as a force both in Italy and abroad.
Three other Serie A prospects were included in the countdown; Lucas Torreira, Nicolò Barella and Federico Chiesa. Interestingly, all of them are being closely monitored by Inter.
He is a very talented player, hope we can sign him in the summer
Juan Jesus was a beast during his peak, so did Murillo.
Yet it only last for half a season or so.
Im not being pessimist, but I do really hope Skriniar would developed even more.
With the right pair, he could shine. Now we need vice-Miranda, since frog aint strong enough to support as Skriniar partner
Barella, Torreira, and Chiesa. Could we have three of these Uncle Zhang? 😀
I am INSANE about Torreira .
He is the first guy I would want for inter.
Future inter starts with him in my book.
Best midfielder in Serie A if you ask me , I am serious/
He can literally do ..EVERYTHING well ,defensive ,pressing ,playmaking , assists and scoring, pace, aggressiveness quantity AND high quality.
I’m also totally crazy about Chiesa ,he is so awesome for his age, amazing.
BUT..am I the only one who doesn’t see anything “sooo special ” about Barella yet?
For now I see that ..he uns a lot. , that’s what I see.
Maybe I don’t know him all that well, but I have seen him a few times..and he is ..meh ok to me , he puts a lot of spirit into the game but that’s all I see ,no outstanding qualities , just ok .
I like him ok.
Not crazy about him
Yes, same for me actually there are some young MF whose better than barella… jankto and viviani for example
Chiesa was a real beast against us a truely unlucky not to score at least one goal. He would add so much to our attacking if he joined us and then maybe Candreva could be moved to attack mid… or something
Total beast.
I only would like to see him score a bit more, but if he did his price would jump up even higher.
The small details and tiny differences which make a winger score more can be learned with time…making him a serious, worldwide top player.
Let say ..Robben.
He is so the new Robben.
Or…the new Chiesa, since I am old enough to remember his very similar type of player dad.
his father was more like a false number 9. and a great finisher too. his son is more like a pure winger, at least for now. but i agree he would be a good addition to this team
Second striker.
If you go look at the best Parma team ever, winning the UEFA cup, they had Crespo as a pure 9, nothing false about him ,and Chiesa moving farther away, around and about the box.
Also in Samp and for Italian NT he was at times just …the RW, even if very offensive minded RW.
he play just behind crespo..
Yes , look ,every player is slightly different but..to have a son playing in “pretty much ” the same role as his dad at the highest level .. that does not happen every day.
It is something you don’t see every day.
They pretty much covered the same spot in an ideal XI :
” Second striker ” ” offensive winger ” .. just semantics, because they ended up doing very similar plays and cover very similar spaces in the field.
Chiesa ‘s dad goals and assists almost always began from the wing , right or left , exactly like his son.
THAT is something.
my point is they have different playing style. i’m not saying federico is not good, but enrico is play more like a striker. his son enrico is more like a winger, at least for now. but federico still young maybe someday we could see him as a shadow striker like his dad too. we know many great striker come from winger, like del piero and henry.
Anyway in regards to his dad:
He himself and many others said that his son at the same age is better than his dad was.
His dad became truly outstanding only after 24- 25 yrs of age.
So, he has a good teacher on his father, right? 🙂
Absolutely .
There was an interview to his dad in Italian tv some time ago, even showing some videos and pics he still had with him demonstrating to his child and training him on basic movements and shooting.
Not just “playing around with his kid a little ” but he was going at it very seriously, and all that since his son was a very young child.
Plus , his dad coaches a Serie A academy team now .
( Sampdoria I think ?)
Agree, in time he´ll learn to take his shots when being in the right spot or to simply pass the ball.. he simply tried to much to score gainst us and forgot the other players next to him.
But he´s a quality player in the making that´s for sure! First Bernadeschi and now Chiesa; really impressive the work of Fiorentina!
