Between today and tomorrow – Gazzetta dello Sport reports – Mauro Icardi will try to rejoin group training with the aim of being fit for Inter’s next game at home, against Benevento, although there is still some doubt about whether he will be able to. The main concern is the worry of aggravating his injury just before the Derby della Madonnina on the 4th of March, in which his presence will be vital.
However, Inter should have Ivan Perisic ready for Benevento, who is already starting more intense workouts. Joao Miranda is still being ruled out, with the aim to have him back against Milan as well, but his recovery is a little more complicated.
Meanwhile, Rafinha Alcantara is working very well, as his first full debut is getting closer, after Spalletti claimed that he was not yet fit enough, following his terrible injury, it would seem as if he is making great progress.
The probable line up against Benevento is as follows: Handanovic in goal, Cancelo, Ranocchia, Skriniar, D’Ambrosio in defence, Vecino and Gagliardini in front, Candreva, Rafinha and Perisic behind Eder or Icardi.
The team that I would pick ( but am aware will never happen) in an attempt to give our underachieving lazy ass players a kick up the backside, would be as follows….
Padelli
D’Ambrosio Lopez Skrniar Dalbert
Gagliardini Rafihna
Cancelo Eder Karamoh
Pinamonti
As we are playing the bottom of the league, this should still be a starting 11 capable of winning, and may just send a message to those who are not doing their job!!
Karamoh should be given the chance to play consistently- although he wasn’t great against Genoa, he was still one of the best of a really bad bunch! Unfortunately, I do expect him to be back on the bench, watching Candreva run around like a headless chicken, and Perisic stroll about like he doesn’t give a sh*t!! Odds are that Rafihna will still be on the bench too….
Karamoh for candy, lopez for rano, dalbert for dumbo, and brozo for vecino.. i think we’ll be good..
I agree with everything except Brozovic- don’t get me wrong, Vecino has been useless for months, but Brozovic is poisonous with his attitude, and should never play for Inter again….I’d rather give a chance to a youth team player
I have read so many times Rafinha is going to start in the next match that i will believe it when i see it on the pitch.
Start Candreva and the Italian Kuzmanovic and we’ll lose
without icardi we will struggle regradless unless one one rafinha or karamoah step it up
We must try them both, alongside Perisic and Eder.
