Is Mauro Icardi staying or leaving? That is a question that is being floated around quite a bit with Real Madrid being rumored to be very keen to replace Karim Benzema with the Argentinian striker. A huge part of the answer to that question depends on whether Inter can find their way to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport reports that “With the qualification, the Argentine will hardly force his hand for a goodbye to Inter. Otherwise Icardi, who is eyed by Real Madrid, Manchester United and with Raiola who would like to serve as his agent and other top clubs, could leave. The Nerazzurri want to renegotiate his contract, whilst Maurito’s entourage expects a retouch of the contract to top-player treatment which means €8 million net per season, whilst Inter do not want to go beyond €7 million. Meanwhile Inter’s Director of Sport would like to remove or increase the release clause to at least, €160 million, as the current release clause set at €110 million is deemed to low.”
Inter should blind him with huge offer if he is saleable for more than 200 milions, Icardi was a problem solver this season, but he is replaceable, the money we can get from his sale after renewal can get us two or three mature superstars, so why not.

Many years ago the world of football understood height doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to the quality of the player. Could line up a long line of high quality players that are really small starting with: Messi, Insigne, Coutinho and many others.

As if the current team is taking us to better places? We’ve had the same squad for 3-4 years more or less and now for the 3 year running we see the same thing happening: a great start is being turned into a disaster finish.
Players that aren’t good enough to take us into top 4 in a year where that pos. is a CL qualification certainty – should leave and new ones brought in! Especially when the same thing has happened to this squad for a couple of years in a row.

If we are getting Lautaro then I’m okay with selling Icardi… Should spend the money wisely though on a high quality player like Milinkovic Savic. Don’t go out and get 3-4 average players, rather get 1 or 2 great/world class player.

Feel that people on here worry more about having a captain than about winning and other things… We’ve had a revolving door at the coaching position, feel like having stability and the right coach is important than who’s captain. That’s who really sets the culture at a club and the attitude of a team. I honestly believe for once we have a coach who can do that.
i agree with you with the coach thing. but how can we have a stability in locker room when our captain which is the maskot of the team always involved in some mess every 6 months!? every six months or at least every 12 months since he became our captain, the club need to raise his salary in order to keep him. wtf!? you never see that even in great players like messi and ronaldo. yes, they’re demanding for more money too, but not in every mercato. not to mention icardi is our captain. as a player, i admire his ability to score, but as a captain, i think he’s not a captain material. at least not yet.
Don’t trust everything you read in the media. Theyre in it for the headline. Club knows Icardi is valuable and they want to increase his clause, you can’t do that unless you increase wages. In this kinda transfer market Icardi would’ve been sold for peanuts if we didn’t renegotiate his contract last year. luckily we did but it’s still too low now, which is crazy hahaha.
