The email issue that prevented Baldé Keita Diao from joining up with the Senegalese National Team left a bitter taste in the mouth of head coach Aliou Cissé.
Cissé focused his attention mainly on Inter’s decision not to release the forward, saying: “They could have made more of an effort to let him come. I deal with club presidents in this job who call me to find an agreement and allow their players to arrive one day late.”
Despite this, Cissé did not wish to pin any blame on the Nerazzurri: “We take note of their choice and respect their decision, the mistake is ours and we cannot hide that fact. Next time we will make sure this doesn’t happen. We tried to convince Inter but they did not want to hear our reasons, going by the rules and saying that it was too late. We take note of it and move forward.”
Keita has remained in Milan and will continue to train at Appiano throughout the international break.
