Inter president Steven Zhang is growing increasingly frustrated at rumours Suning don’t want to invest in the transfer market, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Nerazzurri have already signed Diego Godin, Valentino Lazaro, Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella for a combined total of €100 million this summer, bonuses included.
Suning have done so without selling a single ‘big’ player, too, which Zhang believes is not appreciated enough by those criticising their transfer strategy.
Zhang was expected to raise this point with Antonio Conte at today’s summit in Nanjing, following his criticism towards the club in a press conference on Friday.
Tension has risen within the club recently as Inter struggle to make progress in talks for Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko.
Conte has been forced to complete the first few days of Inter’s tour in China without first-choice centre-forwards, due to Matteo Politano’s injury and Lautaro Martinez’s delayed summer holidays.
Suning are unwilling to spend irresponsibly in a way that would prevent Inter from respecting Financial Fair Play.
It seems they will have to take a risk if they wish to secure Lukaku, though, given that Mauro Icardi is no nearer to leaving the club at present.
