Fiorentina consultant Joe Barone refused to confirm reports linking the Viola with a move for Matteo Politano tonight.

Inter are in advanced talks to resign Cristiano Biraghi and it has been suggested they could sell the former Sassuolo forward in a swap deal.

Barone, who works as a right-hand man to Fiorentina’s new owner Rocco Commisso, told Sky Sport they needed to speak with sporting director Daniele Prade instead.

“The transfer market brings innovations and new developments every day,” the Italian-American said.

“Let’s keep working and we’ll see what the market brings us. Everyone here is doing a great job and if opportunities arise we’ll be ready to take them.”

Politano scored six goals in his debut season for Inter and made his move permanent for €20 million in June.

But he is unlikely to be suited to Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system, sparking reports earlier this month that he could be sacrificed.

Earlier tonight, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Inter and Fiorentina were re-discussing the idea of swapping Biraghi for Dalbert.

Politano would most likely remain at San Siro if Fiorentina agreed a deal to sign the Brazilian.
