It seems that it will be in the midfield Inter’s transfer directors will act with the greatest force, at least if you believe what is said on the radio and in the newspapers. Rumors of Paulinho don’t cease, Behrami is sending signals, Fernando has fallen out with Porto and, above all, there is a trail that leads straight to Radja Nainggolan. The Belgian with Indonesian roots seems to be first choice for Walter Mazzarri, who sees him as the perfect player to place in front of the defense in a hypothetical and likely midfield with five players that Inter will use in 2013/14.
Cellino’s asking pricce continues to be high, at least 15 million and to Branca and Ausilio’s rescue comes, as so many times before in recent years, Inter’s nursery at Appiano Gentile. Inter’s youth section has produced and continues to produce great talents. For that reason, there’s an idea for the transfer market which could facilitate Nainggolans arrival in Milan and Gazzetta dello Sport poses the question: “And if the weapon to acquire Radja Nainggolan is Alfred Duncan? A bid of 8 million from Sunderland for Ghanaian gets Inter to falter. Inter believes in the 20-year-old, who did very well during the months he was loaned to Livorno, but the amoutn is worth thinking about and could be reinvested in the 25-year-old Belgian, who for some time even is chased by Roma. At present, however, Cagliari haven’t received any offers, but there is talk of involving players in order to reduce the cash outlay. Inter, other than goalkeeper Bardi, could also come to offer the rest of the U-21 national team’s defense: Donati, Biraghi and especially central defenders Bianchetti and Caldirola. The latter could be very useful if Astori were to leave.”
A proper puzzle in other words, because Inter on the one hand could get Nainggolan to the midfield, but would on the other hand have to sacrifice Duncan and be real worried that he explodes shortly in another club and be missed.
For this reason, a sale of Guarin can’t be ruled out in view of the strong interest that exists for the midfielder on the transfer market. If the former Porto player were to leave, Nainggolan enter and Duncan remain (maybe just leave on loan), Paulinho’s arrival from Corinthians would almost be certain. Tottenham, with Guarins former mentor Andre Villas-Boas, is the club that is most interested in the Colombian, which president Massimo Moratti admitted yesterday during Curva Nord’s party. The president stuck his neck out properly and uttered the word “Scudetto”, a word not mentioned along with Inter since a while back. In order to achieve that great goal, it will probably have to be made at least one big sacrifice.
