Legendary Inter striker Diego Milito has admitted that he is greatly honoured to have been inducted into Inter’s Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2020 alongside Esteban Cambiasso, Julio Cesar and Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi.
Milito has become the third striker to be inducted into Inter’s Hall of Fame, which was created three years ago. He joins Giuseppe Meazza and Il Fenomeno Ronaldo in the striker category of the Hall of Fame.
The former Argentine national team player arrived at Inter in 2009 from fellow Serie A side Genoa and wasted no time when it came to making his mark as he proved pivotal in Inter’s historic treble win in his first season with the club.
Milito spent five years with the club before returning to Racing Club, where his career began. He made 171 appearances across all competitions and scored a total of 75 goals.
In an interview with Inter’s official club website he said: “My heartfelt thanks to all Nerazzurri fans. It’s a great honour to see my name alongside those of the champions who have helped write Inter’s history. I’ll never stop thanking Nerazzurri fans for their incredible affection which they still show me to this day. Forza Inter forever.”
