Paris Saint-Germain have made a last minute attempt to sign Inter defender Milan Skriniar, offering the Nerazzurri a loan deal with a buy option attached, according to a report from Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today.

The report details how the French giants are looking to strengthen their defense in this transfer window, especially since the departure of veteran centre back Thiago Silva.

According to the report the Champions League finalists made an offer of a loan with an option to make the transfer permanent at €45 million.

Inter declined PSG’s offer, the report continues, as the club are only willing to lose the Slovakian defender with an offer of at least €50 million and only if it is a definitive sale.

The 25-year-old Skriniar, who disappointed coach Antonio Conte last season with his slow adaption to the tactical system, was one of the player’s that the Nerazzurri were willing to sell in order to generate funds for other targets, but no sufficient offers arrived.

As such, it is most likely that Skriniar will remain with Inter for the time being, considering that the transfer window closes tomorrow.
