The not Pazza version of Inter turned up today. Inter looked in command and control from the kick off and were into the lead in the 16th minute through cool and calm Romelu Lukaku.

Just as Bologna thought they would regroup at HT, Brozovic played an epic pass to Hakimi who opened his account for Inter at the stroke of half time.

Conte ensured that everyone stuck to the plan and more of the same continued in the second half until Bologna introduced a raft of youngsters, including Inter owned Vergani.

Two of their substitutes combined to cut the lead in half and it seemed like the missed chances would come to bite Inter. Just then, Hakimi used all his pace to score a second left footed shot to confirm the 3 points.

Samir Handanovic – 6.5: Routine saves to make. Did well to move the ball. Only bad moment was that poor pass straight to Bologna. Unlucky not to get a clean sheet.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: Barrow is exactly the type of player to trouble Skriniar regardless of the formation. Did very well to combine with Hakimi to keep Bologna quiet.

Stefan De Vrij – 6.5: When his companions are playing well, Stefan quietly retreats into the calm mode. That always means he plays amazingly well. Could have scored.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6.5: Did not enjoy the best start to the game as Palacio used all his experience to win fouls. Once he got the hang of that he played with a lot of quality.

Achraf Hakimi – 7.5: Finally, scoring again. Still looked a bit confused and struggled to create that final ball but the goals surely will calm things down and make him settle.

Arturo Vidal – 6.5: The 3-5-2 suits Vidal too! Played like an experienced veteran, did not lose his head, and managed to create chances as well as help out Skriniar a lot.

Marcelo Brozovic – 7: That pass for Hakimi deserves a standing ovation on its own. He was in the mood from the word go. Looked like he was playing on a different level.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6: Gagliardini is enjoying his run of form but a couple of poor touches broke down moves in the attacking phase. Defensively did everything better.

Ivan Perisic – 6: A lot of hard work in between the defensive and attacking moves. Struggled to place a proper final ball and never really commanded his flank well.

Romelu Lukaku – 6.5: There is absolutely nothing Lukaku cannot do. After a missed air shot like that with Hakimi involved, he was awake to realize that there was a goal in it.

Alexis Sanchez – 6: Ran a lot as usual and wants to be involved in every single move. Did not score but took too many touches and overthought when he should not have.

Nicolo Barella – 6: Seeing him come on when your team is two goals ahead is an amazing feeling. Came on and immediately dictated play in attack and in defense.

Matteo Darmian – 6: Brought on to give Hakimi some rest. Never really looked in trouble defensively as the confidence is high. Should have done better with his cross.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Came on to ensure Lukaku is fit and firing on Wednesday. Produced a couple of dangerous runs and on another day would have scored a goal.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – N/A: Bastoni was tiring and was being exposed to pacy players. D’Ambrosio is exactly the kind of player to throw on at the moment. Did his job perfectly.

Christian Eriksen – N/A: Perhaps the biggest negative in this game. Maybe Conte could just have not made the time-wasting substitution at all. Better to part ways soon.

Antonio Conte – 6: Everything worked perfectly according to the plan. Would have liked the clean sheet but you cannot plan for a couple of deflections like that. The 3-5-2 works.

Paolo Valeri – 7.5: Valeri was in control from the first minute till the end. Had an almost perfect game and both coaches and the players did not have much to complain.

Inter – 7: Exactly how Inter should be going into a crunch Champions League game. The boys did not waste any mental or physical energy. Professional job.
