Inter defeated Lazio by 3-1 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district recording their second consecutive win at home in the Serie A over the Biancocelesti since 2011/2012 season.
Lazio started the game brightest and went on the front foot but Inter managed to absorb the pressure withour conceding anything.
The Nerazzurri took the lead from the penalty spot after Wesley Hoedt tackled Lautaro Martinez in the penalty area, with the referee correctly spotting the Dutchman first hitting the Argentinian before the ball.
Romelu Lukaku made no mistake from the spot gifting the Nerazzurri the lead. A lead which he doubled shortly after latching on to a through ball from Marcelo Brozovic which ricocheted off of Manuel Lazzarri.
In the second half, Lazio took charge and got a goal back after a Sergej Milinkovic-Savic free-kick deflected off of Escalante wrongfooting Samur Handanovic.
Lazio continued to pile on the pressure but Romelu Lukaku broke away on the counter latching on to a Marcelo Brozovic pass before assisting Lautaro Martinez who passed it into the empty net.
