Arturo Vidal is working hard today in his bid to recover for Sunday’s Milan derby, according to an Italian broadcaster’s report this afternoon.

As per Sky Sport Italia, although the midfielder trained separately to his Inter teammates yesterday, Vidal could still be available for Sunday’s big match against their Serie A title rivals AC Milan.

Tomorrow and Saturday’s training sessions will be key for the Chilean international, who is not the favourite to start alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Nicolo Barella given his below optimal condition.

Christian Eriksen, who has enjoyed a real upturn in form in recent weeks, remains the favourite to start against the Rossoneri, who he helped Inter to beat in last month’s Coppa Italia quarter-final with a late free kick.

A report in Tuttosport‘s print edition this morning said that aside from the Vidal and Eriksen question, Antonio Conte would name an unchanged XI from the side that started last weekend’s 3-1 win against Lazio.
