Alexis Sanchez will play a crucial role in Inter’s Serie A title bid this season, according to an Italian media report today.

CalcioMercato.com report that the Chilean could be ‘a wildcard’ for the Nerazzurri, a player who could help solve complicated situations in games and offer something different to Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez up front.

Antonio Conte greatly appreciates Sanchez for his leadership skills, because the former Barcelona player knows how to win having picked up 14 trophies in his career.

The report also claimed that rather than play him as an out and out striker, Conte could opt to deploy the 32-year-old almost as a ‘trequartista’ behind one of Lukaku or Lautaro.

Sanchez could perhaps even start in this coming Thursday’s Serie A match away to Parma and if he is able to start scoring more goals, it will be all the better for Inter.

CM said Conte was more likely to stick with his trusted Lu-La partnership at the Stadio Ennio Tardini, though.
