Inter produced a win worthy of Serie A champions against Parma tonight, according to the Nerazzurri’s match-winner Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez had a rather quiet first half but bounced back in the second by scoring twice to secure a 2-1 win for Antonio Conte’s side.

Inter’s success at the Stadio Ennio Tardini takes them six points clear of their closest challengers AC Milan, with just 13 games left.

“It was a difficult game today, both teams played well,” Sanchez told Sky Sport Italia.

“We suffered, but this is how it works if you want to win the Scudetto.

“We are on the right track.”

The Chilean national team player, who scored his fourth and fifth goals of the campaign tonight, was then asked whether the team feel as if they have their Serie A title destiny in their own hands.

“There is that kind of feeling in the dressing room,” Sanchez admitted.

“We must think about not making mistakes.”

The former Manchester United player proceeded to discuss the growth that has been made by some players between the end of last season and now.

“We have improved a lot, I can see it since I’ve been here for a year.

“Nicolo Barella and many others all improved after the Europa League final loss thanks to the coach’s work.

“We can make this step that Inter have been missing.”

In conclusion the 32-year-old discussed Antonio Conte’s recent praise of him and he was quick to insist that he is at 100% and feels better the more he plays.

“Conte’s compliments? I have experience and if he trusts me I am happy,” Sanchez said.

“I am always 100% and if I do not play, I am like a caged lion.

“The more I play, the better I feel.

“I think I have always been in shape, I like to play and I think it shows on the pitch.

“I am happy with how everyone played today, there was so much sacrifice from the staff who work hard every day and we all learn day by day.”
