Inter President Steven Zhang gathered the squad together for a motivational message ahead of their match against Crotone today, with the Nerazzurri on the verge of the Scudetto.

Antonio Conte’s side will be crowned champions this weekend if they beat Crotone and Atalanta fail to get three points against Sassuolo tomorrow afternoon.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Zhang returned to Milan this week after seven months in China, and met up with the squad at the Appiano Gentile training ground yesterday to offer words of encouragement.

Zhang praised the squad for their exceptional season and thanked them for their efforts in the face of a difficult season, in which they have faced financial uncertainty, whilst also asking for one final push to secure the title.

The President was in attendance for around two hours and was flanked by Vice-President Javier Zanetti, as well as directors Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Alessandro Antonello.

However, there are no plans for Zhang to fly to Calabria to attend the match against Crotone and join the squad, and will instead watch the match on television, particularly as the Scudetto can only be sealed tomorrow.

In the event of victory today, Conte will allow his players some days off but the squad are expected to gather together to watch Atalanta’s match and celebrate the potential title win together.
