Inter’s 5-1 thrashing of Sampdoria in Serie A yesterday was an opportunity to showcase their squad depth and goal threat from all over the pitch, Italian media suggest.

The league champions made light work of Claudio Ranieri’s side after Alexis Sanchez followed up an early Roberto Gagliardini goal with a first-half brace. Andrea Pinamonti and Lautaro Martinez sealed the victory after the break to secure a comprehensive win.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Repubblica, victory extended Inter’s unbeaten streak to 19 matches, with 15 wins and four draws since last tasting defeat, against Sampdoria themselves in the corresponding fixture in January.

Meanwhile, Gagliardini’s goal saw him become the 10th player in the squad to find the net at least three times this season, whilst Sanchez’s strikes after starting in place of Romelu Lukaku showed that Inter have attacking threat throughout the squad.

Pinamonti stepped off the bench to score his first senior goal for the club and the Nerazzurri have hit 79 league goals this season, whilst only conceding 30 times in 35 games.
