Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand has talked about a way that he keeps stricken Danish captain Christian Eriksen in his thoughts on and off the pitch with the Inter midfielder ruled out of participation with the Danish squad at the Euros.

Speaking to Danish broadcaster ViaSat, reported by FCInterNews, the manager explained that he wears a bracelet which represents the fact that he still thinks about Eriksen, and the 29-year-old is still someone who is a par of his team and his life.

Fans and players of the Denmark national team, like Nerazzurri supporters, were shocked by the health emergency suffered by Eriksen during the coutnry’s EURO 2020 opener against Finland.

This sentiment is shared by the wider footballing world, with an outpouring of support having come in for the player.

Hjulmand’s approach of wearing a bracelet is not the same as those of all of the player’s current and former teammates who have expressed their support and love in different ways, but it shows how much the player still means to those who he has worked with over his career:

“I have never worn jewellery in my life,” Hjulmand explained of the bracelet, “but there is a football on this and it means that Christian is here.”

“We want to take him along with us. He’s been with me every step of the way, I think about him a lot. As I’ve always said, he’s our heart and our rhythm. He’s our inspiration.”
