Cambiasso-“Taider did well. Icardi..”

Esteban Cambiasso talked to Sky sport after the game where his Inter got away with one point.

“The season is long, it isn’t a cup. It is important to have continuity to fight for the top positions and there are a lot of games, I don’t know if we are there yet. But we will try of course. Icardi? He needs to think that this is the past and that there is another game coming up. Continuity is needed to do well at Inter, not one good game. We will give him advice, he did well today coming off the bench but he is working to be able to have a great season.”

The added value could be Milito.

“Of course he can help us take a big leap in quality. To have him on the bench, on the pitch during practice, it is important. Him and Walter (Samuel) are important in the locker room. I am happy that the team is doing well but I don’t celebrate, I only celebrate in May..

Cambiasso also stopped and talked to our partners at FcInternews in the mixed zone. He analized the game, starting with the tactical aspects.

“Every game has its tactics, it is the  mister that decides the movements. Of course we know that if we let Juve play with the ball at their feet they can do us harm so MAzzarri asked us to pressure them and not let Buffon kick out. To find out if you have grown or not though you need to look at continuity and not just a single game, at the moment we are in the top with Juventus that is true. But we need to analyze our performance after several games not right now. I am calm because it seems we are on the right path but I know we can’t relax a second because if you let go of the tension then everything goes wrong.”

Fcinternews asks him if this is his best game in the beginning of this season.

“Today was a different game, we played Juventus the best team in Italy. And I am not ashamed to say this considering the results the last years, but being able to do well on the pitch makes me happier for the squad than at a personal level.”

He then continues discussing where the team might end up.

“We need to think about one game at a time, so now Sassuolo. We need to think like this, if not it is over. Taider? I think he did well, he played well versus Juventus even though he joined us just a short time ago. But the whole team played well, don’t make me analyze all the players.”

Icardi?

“I am happy for his game, and then with Juventus it seems he has a special bond considering he always scores.”

Is Juventus the team to beat?

“Yes, because it is the team that has shown the most continuity and it is the team to beat for everybody, unfortunately we didn’t succeed in doing so today. We believe in ourselves, we know that if we work hard we can do well. And the self-confidence hasn’t risen just because we faced Juventus, but because we believe in what we do. Mazzarri is a new coach, he has new concepts that he needs us to understand but we have done it pretty well considering the short time. Playing like this in one of the first games of the season shows that the team understands what the coach wants. The mix between older and younger I think is a minor influent, we all want what is best for Inter and we need to step up to all games with the same grit and be humble. Every day is new and Monday we start over with the same humble approach.”

The gap with Juventus?

“We all start from zero, they have continuity, a coach that knows the team inside and out and that is a huge advantage. We are working with a new coach since 2 months, they have had the same the last 2 years so there are advantages which the trophies they have won recently show. But the important thing is to believe in ourselves.”
