Inter’s San Siro stadium is much older and less developed than many other stadiums that belong to the teams in the Champions League Round of 16, according to a report in the Italian print media.

As has been reported by Tuttosport, the need for Inter and AC Milan to move into a new stadium soon is evident when San Siro is compared to the grounds occupied by the other teams that are in the last 16 of the Champions League this season.

San Siro was built in 1926 and received renovation works in 1955 and 1990. This means it is the ground that has received the least attention in the past thirty years. Atletico Madrid, Juventus, and Lille all moved to new stadiums within the past decade.

Five more clubs moved to new stadiums within the past 20 years, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Sporting, and RB Salzburg.

Teams such as Real Madrid and Liverpool have very old stadiums but they have received more recent building work.
