Inter defender Milan Skriniar says that Inter have shown they can play against any team and that only goals were missing from the performance, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking after the game to Inter TV, via FCInternews, the Slovakian defender explained that the performance put in by Inter last night was very good and that they only lost due to a set piece.
“We put in a good performance as a great team against Liverpool who are one of the strongest teams in the world. We lost on a set piece, now we have to raise our heads and look straight ahead.”
Milan Skriniar went on to say that this shows that Inter can play against the best teams in Europe and hold their own. All that was missing was finishing off the chances that they created.
“We saw an Inter that can play against anyone, we only missed the goals. We have to be more determined and strong in the details that make the difference in these games.”
The former Sampdoria defender wasted no time in turning his attention to Inter’s next match in Serie A which is against Sassuolo.
“From tomorrow we head to the next match, it will certainly be difficult, we must immediately lift our heads and move on.”
Inter lost the match against Liverpool 2-0 despite a very good performance. The goals came late in the game from substitute Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
