Italian journalist Guido De Carolis has said that Romelu Lukaku could only return to Inter on loan but Beppe Marotta may be able to manage it, according to a report in the Italian media today.

According to Corriere della Sera journalist Guido De Carolis, the only possible way that Inter fans will see Romelu Lukaku in a Nerazzurri shirt again next season will be if he joins on loan from Cheslea.

The Belgian forward joined Chelsea in the summer from Inter but he has not clicked with German coach Thomas Tuchel and he made it clear halfway through the season that he wishes to play for Inter again and should not have left.

“Lukaku can only return to Inter on loan. The Nerazzurri cannot buy him, but he can come back on loan. It depends on Chelsea and Tuchel. Lukaku doesn’t want to stay with this coach.”

It would be an extremely complex deal to carry out but the journalist says that Inter CO Beppe Marotta could be able to carry it out because the player is so desperate to come back to Inter.

“The operation is difficult and Marotta could do it above all due to the player’s strong will to return.”
